B2B link building costs about US$1,000 to US$14,000 monthly on the packages providers publish, or roughly US$100 to US$900 per link. Digital PR costs more. Placement packages start near US$3,000 monthly, and a full B2B PR retainer runs from US$7,500 to US$15,000 or more in the agencies' own guides. Australia runs cheaper. The spread isn't noise. It's a link nobody reads versus a mention in the publication your buyers open every morning.

I'm Brenden House, and I run Searchmaxxed, an SEO and AI SEO agency for enterprise, B2B SaaS, venture-backed, manufacturing and public-sector companies. On 27 October 2026 (AEST) I read the pricing pages of 10 link building and digital PR providers that B2B companies hire. Then I converted every price. Monthly first, then per link.

## In summary

Expect US$2,500 to US$10,000 monthly for managed B2B link building, and more again for digital PR that wins coverage in titles your buyers read.

| What you buy | Published price |
| --- | --- |
| Volume links at DR 40 to 60 | US$1,000 to US$4,000 monthly |
| Editorial links at DR 50+ | US$1,250 to US$14,000 monthly |
| Editorial links at DR 60+, sold by plan | From US$5,000 monthly |
| Digital PR placements quoting your expert | US$3,000 to US$12,000 monthly |
| B2B tech PR retainer | From US$12,000 monthly |
| Managed packages in Australia | A$1,000 to A$4,400 monthly |

- Turn every quote into one number, monthly and then per live link or placement, before you compare anything else on it.
- The linking site sets the price. A trade publication your buyers read costs more than a high score on a site nobody visits, and it's worth more.
- Google treats links bought "for ranking purposes" as link spam, so ask where your money goes.
- Judge a program by pipeline.

## How much do B2B link building packages cost?

Providers selling link building to B2B and SaaS companies publish packages from about US$1,000 to US$14,000 monthly, and most land between US$2,500 and US$10,000. The higher the minimum Domain Rating and the more links a month, the bigger the bill.

This is my own selection of providers that put a number on B2B link building and digital PR. I run Searchmaxxed, so it's listed first. Read it as a price map. It isn't an award or a review of anyone's work.

### Link building packages with published prices

| Provider | Published price | What the price covers |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Searchmaxxed | Not published; quoted per company | Links and digital PR inside each managed plan, with the pages they point to |
| [Get Pro Links](https://getprolinks.com/pricing/) | US$999, US$2,499 or US$3,999 monthly | 10, 20 or 30 links, mostly DR 40 to 60; dearer plans add DR 60 to 90+ |
| [Saasy Links](https://saasylinks.com/link-building-packages/) | US$1,250 to US$5,250 monthly | 5 to 15 editorial links, DR 50+ to DR 70+, for B2B software companies |
| [OneLittleWeb](https://onelittleweb.com/pricing/) | US$2,999, US$5,999 or US$9,999 monthly | 7, 15 or 27 links at DR 50 to 90; custom plans for 100+ |
| [Sure Oak](https://sureoak.com/plans) | US$3,500, US$5,000 or US$10,000 monthly | 9, 14 or 28 links |
| [LinkPanda](https://linkpanda.com/pricing/) | US$4,400 to US$13,860 monthly | 10 to 35 links at DR 50+; DR 70+ tiers from US$4,800 |
| [uSERP](https://userp.io/link-building/link-building-pricing/) | From US$5,000 monthly | Editorial links in its top two quality tiers; three-month initial term |
| [Intelligent Links](https://www.intelligentlinks.com.au/link-building-cost-australia/) | A$1,000, A$1,500 or A$2,000 monthly | 3 to 5, 4 to 8 or 7 to 10 links; its [Foundation page](https://www.intelligentlinks.com.au/product/foundation/) calls them "editorial pitches" |
| [RockingWeb](https://www.rockingweb.com.au/link-building-pricing) | A$1,980, A$2,950 or A$4,400 monthly | 3 links at DR35+, 5 at DR40+, 8 at DR45+; three-month minimum |

### Digital PR and B2B PR with published prices

| Provider | Published price | What the price covers |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Reporter Outreach](https://www.reporteroutreach.com/pricing) | US$3,000, US$6,000 or US$12,000 monthly | 7, 15 or 32 placements quoting your expert, DR 50+; three-month minimum |
| [OneLittleWeb](https://onelittleweb.com/digital-pr-backlinks/) | From US$6,000 per campaign | One content-led campaign: a data story pitched to journalists |
| [Crackle PR](https://www.cracklepr.com/b2b-tech-pr-agency-pricing) | From US$12,000 monthly | B2B tech PR: earned media, executive thought leadership and GEO; six-month minimum |

Every row comes from the provider's own page, read 27 October 2026 (AEST). Overseas providers show a bare $, which I've read as US dollars, and the Australian pages don't say whether GST is included. Confirm both on the written quote, line by line.

Look at the first table again. Volume makes links cheaper. A 30-link plan at US$3,999 works out cheaper per link than 5 links at US$1,250. Why? The sites differ. Volume plans fill up on DR 40 to 60 sites, and the dearer ones set a floor on traffic and authority.

## How much does one backlink cost for a B2B company?

One B2B backlink costs about US$100 to US$900 on published packages, once you divide the monthly fee by the links promised. Editorial links on DR 50+ sites mostly sit between US$225 and US$480.

| Provider and plan | Price as published | Per link |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Get Pro Links Professional | US$999 for 10 links, DR 40 to 60 | About US$100 |
| Get Pro Links Scale | US$3,999 for 30 links | About US$133 |
| Saasy Links Scale | US$2,250 for 10 links, DR 50+ | US$225 |
| Saasy Links Conquer | US$5,250 for 15 links, DR 70+ | US$350 |
| Sure Oak Professional | US$5,000 for 14 links | About US$357 |
| OneLittleWeb Scale | US$9,999 for 27 links | About US$370 |
| Reporter Outreach Elite | US$12,000 for 32 placements | US$375 |
| LinkPanda Core | US$4,400 for 10 links, DR 50+ | US$440 |
| LinkPanda Authority Core | US$4,800 for 10 links, DR 70+ | US$480 |
| uSERP plans | From US$5,000 monthly | US$600 to US$900 per DR 60+ link, its own figure |
| RockingWeb Starter | A$1,980 for 3 links, DR35 | A$660 |

Per-link figures are mine unless stated.

Here's an outside data set for scale. [BacklinkOutreach](https://backlinkoutreach.agency/how-much-does-link-building-cost-in-2026-real-pricing-from-hundreds-of-placements/) logged 1,225 publisher quotes and 574 completed placements, and its median secured link in general niches cost US$150, paid to the publisher. That's before anyone writes a word. Its median asking fee was US$127 for sites at DR 30 or below, and US$950 at DR 81 and above.

A US$100 link leaves little room for research, writing and outreach. So ask which sites it sits on, and who owns them.

## How much does digital PR cost for B2B companies?

Digital PR for B2B companies costs from about US$3,000 monthly for packaged placements to US$12,000 or more for a senior tech PR retainer. One-off data campaigns start near US$6,000.

Two kinds of work share the name. Placement packages pitch your expert's comment to journalists and count the links that land, while a PR retainer runs media relations and launches. Links come as a side effect.

The agencies' own guides agree. [Idea Grove](https://www.ideagrove.com/blog/how-much-does-a-b2b-pr-agency-cost-in-2026), a B2B PR agency, tells established B2B companies to budget US$7,500 to US$15,000 monthly for a comprehensive program. [Gabriel Marketing](https://www.gabrielmarketing.com/b2b-tech-pr-agency-pricing/) puts a standard B2B tech PR retainer at US$7,500 to US$20,000 monthly, and enterprise programs often start at US$25,000.

Which do you need? For search, placements are sharper. If you need analysts, trade press and a launch plan, you're buying PR, and the links are a bonus.

## What do you get at each B2B link building price level?

Below US$2,500 monthly, you mostly buy volume. From US$2,500 to US$10,000, you're paying for a minimum authority and traffic on every site. Past US$10,000, it's PR-grade coverage or a recommended plan for a crowded category.

| Level | Published price | What these packages include |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Volume | US$1,000 to US$4,000 monthly | 10 to 30 links, mostly DR 40 to 60, niche-relevant guest posts |
| Editorial | US$1,250 to US$10,000 monthly | 5 to 28 links, usually with a DR floor, sometimes a traffic floor and domain approval |
| High authority | US$4,800 to US$15,000+ monthly | DR 60 to 70+ sites; uSERP recommends about US$10,000 for competitive SaaS and B2B |
| Digital PR placements | US$3,000 to US$12,000 monthly | Expert quotes in news and business titles, each with a link |
| PR retainer | From US$12,000 monthly | Media relations, thought leadership, launches; links follow |

Watch the word "pitch". A pitch is an article offered to a publisher, and the publisher can say no. Pitches or live links? Ask. Then ask what happens in a month when fewer go live than promised.

I'd take three links from publications your buyers actually read over thirty from sites built to sell links, every month of the year. Your board won't ask how many links you bought. They'll ask what moved pipeline.

## What changes the cost of B2B link building?

Six things set the price. The sites, the link type, your category, the gap to competitors, the writing and your markets. Change one and the quote moves.

| What changes | Why it moves the price |
| --- | --- |
| The linking site | Real readers, relevance to your category and editorial standards cost more |
| The link type | Guest posts cost least, insertions vary, digital PR costs the most per link |
| Your category | Crowded SaaS categories need more strong links a month to move |
| Your competitors | If the pages above you have links from 200 sites and you have 20, the gap sizes the job |
| The content | A publisher only accepts work worth printing, and senior writing costs money |
| Your markets | Each country or language needs its own publications, so the bill rises per market |

Your industry changes what works, too. Manufacturers often win links from trade publications, industry associations and supplier pages. Public-sector teams usually can't pay publishers. Their links come from research and PR. A venture-backed SaaS company can turn a funding round or its own product data into coverage.

Two terms come up in every quote. **Domain Rating (DR)** is Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for the strength of a site's backlink profile. **Domain Authority (DA)** is Moz's version. Neither is a Google number, and neither tells you whether real people read the site.

Here's how the main link types compare.

| Link type | What it is | What it does for you |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Guest posts | An article written for another site, with a link back to you | Topical relevance from a site in or near your category |
| Link insertions | A link added to an article that already exists | Faster and cheaper than a new article; only as good as the host page |
| Digital PR | Data, stories or expert comment that journalists cover | Links and mentions from news sites, the hardest kind to fake |
| Research and data | Original numbers others cite, such as a benchmark report | Links that keep arriving after the campaign ends |
| Earned links | Links people give your best pages unprompted | The strongest kind, and the one you can't buy directly |

A **backlink** is a link from another site to yours; a **referring domain** is one site linking to you, however many links it sends. It's usually the better count to watch. A **dofollow** link passes ranking credit. Links marked `nofollow` or `sponsored` don't pass it, which is exactly what Google asks for when money changes hands.

Tiered link building means building links to the pages that link to you. Rarely worth paying for.

## Is it safe to pay for backlinks?

Paying for the work is fine. Paying a site so its link passes ranking credit is what Google calls link spam. [Google's spam policies](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies) list "Buying or selling links for ranking purposes", including "Exchanging money for links, or posts that contain links".

Google also says paid links are "not a violation of our policies" when they carry `rel="nofollow"` or `rel="sponsored"`. Those tags stop the link passing ranking credit, though. That's advertising, not link building.

Split any fee in two. One part pays people for research, writing, outreach and editor relationships, and in many packages the other part goes straight to the publisher. How big is each part? Ask.

Ask any provider these five questions before procurement signs anything:

1. Does any of my money go to the publisher, and if it does, will the link be tagged `sponsored`?
2. Can I see ten recent B2B placements?
3. Will every link come with its URL, anchor text and the linking site's traffic?
4. Who writes the article, and does our team approve it before it goes out?
5. What if a link disappears later?

Penalties grab the headlines, and they make good conference talks. Wasted budget is the common outcome. A link from a site nobody reads can sit there for years and move nothing, while the invoices keep arriving.

## Do backlinks help you get recommended in ChatGPT and AI answers?

Links and mentions on the sites AI tools read help decide which companies get named. That's why digital PR, lists and review sites now matter more than a count of guest posts, especially in crowded B2B categories.

We ran this test ourselves. Across 900 ChatGPT answers about Australian agencies, a single third-party "best agencies" site was cited in 168 of them. The next three were a second listicle, Semrush's agency directory and Clutch. If you want to be recommended, the job is getting onto the handful of pages the model already trusts.

For a B2B company, those pages are category roundups, analyst and comparison pages, trade publications and review sites. Cheap bundles rarely reach them. More on that in our guide on [whether backlinks still matter](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/research/are-backlinks-still-important).

## Is B2B link building worth the cost?

B2B link building is worth it when the extra pipeline it brings in pays for the fee. Price it per customer, not per link.

Picture a B2B SaaS company selling compliance software at US$30,000 a year per customer, where the head of growth holds two quotes. Quote one is US$2,499 monthly for 20 links, mostly DR 40 to 60. Quote two is US$6,000 monthly for 15 placements quoting the company's CISO in business and security titles.

Quote one wins on price per link. Easily.

Now look at the job. The company needs its comparison pages and its "SOC 2 compliance software" page in the top three, and its name in ChatGPT's shortlists. Security and business titles help both. Generic guest posts help with neither.

Say each new customer brings US$24,000 of gross profit in year one, so quote two's US$72,000 a year needs three extra customers. Those are example figures. Put in your own contract value, margin and win rate.

Links can't save a weak page, though. They push pages that already answer the search, so pointing them at a thin feature page pays to promote something nobody reads.

I learned this with my own money.

Before Searchmaxxed, I built Radiant Roof Repairs from zero to more than A$1 million a year in revenue using SEO as the only marketing channel. Three high-intent Gold Coast roofing searches reached number one within 90 days. I did the pages, research, competitor checks and updates manually.

That was a small business. It's no forecast for yours. The [Radiant Roof Repairs case study](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/case-studies/radiant-roof-repairs-seo-case-study) shows the pages and links behind it. The maths scales up, though. When one customer is worth tens of thousands, a page that ranks pays for a lot of links.

## How do you compare two B2B link building quotes?

Turn both quotes into monthly figures, divide by live links or placements, then look hard at the sites behind them. Take this list into every vendor call.

1. Write each quote as one monthly figure, with setup fees and the minimum term on their own line.
2. Divide by live links, not pitches.
3. Ask for three recent example sites, then check that your buyers actually read them, not just that the DR is high.
4. Ask which of your pages the links will point to, and why those pages.
5. Ask how they'll choose anchor text.
6. Ask who writes, and who approves.
7. Ask how they'll show the result: rankings, AI answer mentions and pipeline from the target pages.

Before you call anyone, check your own profile and the profiles of the three companies above you. A [backlink checker](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/research/best-backlink-checkers) shows how many referring domains each page has, and that gap tells you how big the job is.

Vague quotes buy vague links. A prettier report is nice, but it isn't the goal. Without pipeline, what's the point?

## Where does Searchmaxxed fit?

Searchmaxxed is an SEO and AI SEO agency for enterprise, B2B SaaS, venture-backed, manufacturing and public-sector companies. We do technical SEO, content, link building, digital PR, GEO and AEO, so you rank in Google and get named in AI answers. Links and digital PR sit inside our managed plans, next to the pages they point to.

A link-only vendor can't do that. We build the comparison, category and integration pages, then point links at the ones that bring pipeline. Our [link building service](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/services/link-building) has the detail. On Agentic Search Engineering that means a quarterly proof asset from your own wins, a monthly press release, and continuous digital PR and qualified link campaigns. Every placement is reported with its live URL. No link farms.

| Plan | Who it suits | Link and digital PR work included |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Growth System | A company growing in one or two markets | One qualified link action a month, 30 page releases a month, AI visibility tracking |
| Agentic Search Engineering | A crowded category or national market | Continuous digital PR and qualified link campaigns, a monthly press release, a quarterly proof asset from your own wins, 50 page releases a month |
| Custom & Enterprise | Several brands, several markets or a very large site | Scope built around you, which can include original first-party research and dedicated engineering |

A page release is an approved new page or a substantial rebuild, and terms are monthly, six-month or 12-month, agreed on the call.

Here's how we do it. We build on a website you own, our Agentic Website. AI agents pull your Search Console and GA4 data, read the Google results and check what AI answers say about you. The Managed Search Loop uses that to show which page a link will help most. Off your site, the Off-Page Source Layer earns the links, digital PR and mentions that back those pages up in Google and AI answers.

Searchmaxxed's work has generated more than A$10 million in revenue through search for its clients.

## Is Searchmaxxed right for you?

We suit marketing and growth teams that want links and the pages they point to built by one team, measured by rankings and pipeline. Only want links by the dozen? We're the wrong call.

| Searchmaxxed is a good fit if | Look elsewhere if |
| --- | --- |
| You want links pointed at pages that sell, and those pages built too | You only want a fixed count of links each month |
| You want digital PR and links planned with your content | You're an agency after white-label links to resell |
| You want each placement reported with its live URL | You need organic search to fill this quarter's pipeline on its own |
| You want to own your site, repository, content and data | You want strategy advice with no changes to your site |
| You want to be named in AI answers as well as ranked in Google | You're shopping for the cheapest retainer |

If you're in the right-hand column, a link vendor or PR agency from the tables above will suit you better.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much do links cost?

About US$100 to US$900 per link on published B2B packages, with editorial links on DR 50+ sites mostly at US$225 to US$480. BacklinkOutreach's median publisher fee was US$150 in general niches, before content and outreach.

### How much do link building packages cost monthly?

Published B2B packages run from about US$1,000 to US$14,000 monthly. Most sit between US$2,500 and US$10,000. Australian ones publish at A$1,000 to A$4,400.

### What is a B2B link?

A link to a B2B company's site from a site its buyers read. Think trade titles, industry bodies and partners. Relevance to the buyer matters more than the authority score.

### How much does digital PR cost?

Packaged placements start near US$3,000 monthly. Full B2B PR retainers run US$7,500 to US$15,000 or more, and one published B2B tech PR minimum is US$12,000. Single data campaigns start around US$6,000.

### What does digital PR include?

Research or data a journalist can use, expert commentary, pitching and answers to journalist requests. You get coverage, links and mentions.

### How many backlinks do I need?

Enough to close the gap. Count the referring domains of the top three results for your main search. Crowded SaaS categories need more.

### How long does link building take to work?

Months, not weeks. RockingWeb sets a three-month minimum and gives its reason plainly: "One month of links produces almost no measurable outcome."

Judge the first 90 days on live links, then on how the target pages rank.

### Are backlinks still relevant in 2026?

Yes. Links still help Google rank pages, and mentions on trusted sites help AI answers decide which companies to name. Quality beats count.

## What should you do next?

Pick the two or three pages that bring your best pipeline. Hold every quote against the tables above, monthly and per live link, and ask which of your pages each link will point to. For the rest of the bill, see [how much enterprise SEO costs](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/research/how-much-does-enterprise-seo-cost).
