Pricing page SEO makes your pricing page the result Google shows for "[your brand] pricing" and the source AI answers quote for your price. You can win both with or without published prices. What decides it? Whether the page states plan names, inclusions, pricing units and quote steps in plain text that crawlers can read. Leave that out and AI answers still name a price. They just take it from Reddit, review sites and pricing databases instead of from you.

I'm Brenden House. I run Searchmaxxed, an SEO and AI SEO agency, and our own pricing page publishes no fees. Here's what the published research says about how pricing pages rank and get quoted, and what to build.

## In summary

Pricing page SEO means owning the searches people run once they're already weighing you up, plus the answer AI tools give them.

| Your pricing model | What the page has to state |
| --- | --- |
| Full price list | Every plan, unit, billing term and add-on, in HTML text and a table |
| Entry price, enterprise on request | The entry price, what tips a buyer into enterprise, and what a quote needs |
| Plans with no fees | Plan names, inclusions, the pricing unit and how quotes work |
| Contact sales only | How you charge, typical deal shape, and the next step |

- Publishing prices is a commercial call, and the research cuts both ways.
- AI answers price you anyway. In one study of 7,675 AI answers, a company's own pricing page appeared in 46% and came first in only 12%.
- Readable beats pretty: prices and plan tables need to sit in the HTML crawlers fetch, outside tabs, sliders and iframes.
- Schema helps only when it matches the page.

## What is pricing page SEO?

Pricing page SEO is the work of getting your pricing page found, understood and quoted for the searches buyers run about your cost. It covers the copy, the plan comparison table, the technical setup, structured data and the links pointing in.

Here's the search set, using a made-up product called Acme:

| Search type | Example | Who's searching |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Brand pricing | acme pricing, acme cost, acme price per user | A buyer already evaluating you |
| Brand plan | acme enterprise plan, is acme free | Someone sizing up a tier |
| Brand vs rival | acme vs rival pricing | A buyer with a two-vendor shortlist |
| Category pricing | compliance software pricing | A buyer setting a budget |
| AI prompt | "Evaluate Acme on pricing" in ChatGPT | The same buyers, asking a chatbot |

Four terms first. A **pricing page** is the page, usually /pricing, that explains what you charge and how. A **plan comparison table** is the grid that sets plans side by side, feature by feature. **Structured data**, or schema markup, is code telling search engines what the page describes, such as a product and its price. **AI answers** are the replies from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode.

These searches punch above their weight. HockeyStack studied 31 million visitors across 80 B2B SaaS companies and found pricing pages took [16.5% of all website traffic](https://www.hockeystack.com/lab-blog-posts/state-of-pricing-demo-case-study-pages). Demo pages took 0.91%.

That's why we treat the pricing page as a money page in our [SaaS SEO work](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/industries/saas-seo), alongside comparison, integration and security pages.

## Should B2B and SaaS companies publish prices on their website?

Publishing prices is a commercial decision, and SEO can work with either answer. Most B2B SaaS companies don't publish. Wynter's April 2026 survey of 50 B2B SaaS leaders found [62% hide pricing behind "contact sales"](https://wynter.com/research/b2b-saas-pricing-study), while only 10% are fully transparent.

The conversion data pulls both ways. In HockeyStack's dataset, pages with no published price turned 4.6% of visitors into form submissions, against 2.8% for pages that showed prices. Then it flips. Leads from published-price pages became pipeline at 17.50%, against 10.31%.

It's a trade. More conversations, or better-qualified ones: which matters more depends on your sales team, your deal size and what each discovery call costs.

Here's how each model plays out in search:

| Model | What Google and AI answers can quote | What you need to add |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Full price list | Your exact prices, units and plans | Billing terms, add-ons and a freshness date |
| Entry price plus enterprise on request | The entry price and enterprise trigger | What changes the enterprise quote |
| Plans and inclusions, no fees | Plan names, inclusions and pricing unit | How the quote works and what it depends on |
| Contact sales only | Little, unless you explain how you charge | A plain explanation of your pricing model |
| No pricing page at all | Nothing from you | Third-party sites fill the gap |

We run the third model ourselves. Our [pricing page](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/pricing) names each package and counts what it ships, 30 or 50 page releases a month, then says we quote in writing. That hands a search engine or an AI tool something true to say about us, with no fee anywhere on the page.

Kyle Poyar's Cloud 100 pricing study, run with Profound, backs that middle path. Personio's pricing page sat [well above the median for AI citations](https://www.growthunhinged.com/p/ai-pricing-visibility-data) in that study while showing plans and no price points. Pendo, Carta and Gong do the same.

## What happens in AI answers when you don't publish a price?

AI answers still state a price. They pull it from other sites, and those figures are often wide or wrong.

Kyle Poyar and Profound tested 7,675 AI answers to pricing prompts about Cloud 100 companies, across six engines, from 29 July to 10 August 2026. What stood out:

- A company's own pricing page appeared in 46% of answers, yet came first in only 12%. Not one led most runs.
- One vertical AI company had no public pricing page.
- For that company, 67 of 76 answers used negative pricing language and put its price anywhere from roughly US$100 to US$2,400 per user a month.
- The top outside sources: Vendr (18.7% of runs), Reddit (18.6%) and G2 (15.9%).

Accuracy is the other problem. In [Profound's audit of AI claims about brands](https://www.tryprofound.com/blog/where-do-inaccurate-ai-claims-come-from), pricing and billing made up 12% of evaluated claims but 24% of the inaccurate ones. No other topic came close.

And buyers see these answers early. G2 surveyed more than 1,000 B2B software buyers: [51% now start their research with an AI chatbot](https://learn.g2.com/g2-2026-ai-search-insight-report) more often than with Google. In TrustRadius's 2026 report, [94% of buyers who used AI](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/trustradius-2026-b2b-buying-disconnect-report-reveals-ai-has-changed-how-buyers-research-but-not-what-they-trust-302825792.html) said they fact-check its answers at least some of the time. Make your pricing page the place that fact-check lands.

So a quote-based company needs a page that explains its pricing model in words. Say what you charge for: seats, usage, modules, sites or contract value. Say what moves the number. Then fix what you can off your site. Start with your own G2 and Capterra profiles, because answer engines read those too.

## What should a B2B or SaaS pricing page include for SEO?

A pricing page that ranks and gets quoted states five facts in text: plans, inclusions, unit, billing terms and the next step. Everything else supports those five.

| Element | Why it matters for search and AI answers |
| --- | --- |
| Title tag with "pricing" and your brand | Matches the exact search |
| H1 that says pricing or plans | Confirms the topic on the page itself |
| Plan names and who each suits | Gives AI answers a "best for" line to repeat |
| The pricing unit | Per seat, per usage, per site or per contract: the fact buyers compare |
| Inclusions per plan, in text | Lets Google and AI tools answer feature questions from this page |
| An HTML comparison table | The format engines lift most easily |
| Billing mechanics | Minimums, terms, overages, currency and tax |
| A short FAQ | Answers the follow-up questions in the searcher's words |
| A visible update date | Tells engines and buyers the page is current |
| Links to billing docs, security and comparisons | Builds a set of pages that agree with each other |

The H1 is the one teams most often miss. It's also the easiest fix on the page. A slogan in the main heading leaves the title tag to carry the topic on its own, which wastes the strongest heading on the page. Say "pricing" or "plans" in the H1.

The Cloud 100 study found the strongest companies build what it calls a pricing answer stack. That's a pricing page, pricing FAQs, supporting content, billing documentation and AI-readable infrastructure, all agreeing with each other. Plaid shows how it works. Its billing docs appeared in 70% of AI answers about its pricing, ahead of its pricing page at 64%.

On our Growth System, landing-page optimisation covers up to four existing pages a month, and the pricing page is often first in line. Agentic Search Engineering adds net-new comparison and integration page families, which are the pages that sit around pricing in that stack.

## How do you build a plan comparison table that Google and AI can read?

Build it as a real HTML table in the page source. Put plans in the columns and buyer-language features in the rows, and keep it out of images and click-to-load content.

Many pricing grids are built from styled boxes rather than a table element. That can look fine in a browser while a crawler is left guessing which tick belongs to which plan.

Make the table quotable:

1. Use the plan names you use everywhere else.
2. Add a "Best for" row.
3. Write each feature as the outcome a buyer searches for, then your own feature name in brackets.
4. State monthly and annual figures separately.
5. Write "Included", "Not included" or the limit.
6. Keep the full table in the HTML even when you collapse it on mobile, because a crawler reads the HTML and ignores your accordion.

## Which schema markup should a SaaS pricing page use?

Use Product or SoftwareApplication with Offer markup when the page shows prices, and keep every value identical to what's visible. Publish no price? Then skip Offer markup rather than inventing one.

Google's rules are specific. Its [software app documentation](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/software-app) requires `offers.price` plus a rating or review for the software rich result. Its FAQ rich result now appears [only for well-known, authoritative government and health websites](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/faqpage). FAQ markup can still describe a SaaS pricing page; you just won't get the expandable answers under your result in Google.

What about AI Overviews? Google's [AI features guidance](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/ai-features) says: "There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode". It asks for important content "in textual form", with structured data that matches the visible content.

Check yours the same way. Fetch the page, read the rendered HTML and list the structured data it carries. A page that shows a price on screen but leaves it out of its markup gives search engines less to read than it could. It's the kind of schema batch that ships every month on our packages, and our [schema markup guide](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/research/schema-markup-guide) covers the code itself.

## How do you make a pricing page readable by AI crawlers?

Serve prices and the plan table in the first HTML response, and let crawlers fetch it. Most AI crawlers run limited or no JavaScript, so a price that loads later can be invisible to them.

The Cloud 100 study found 57 of 77 public pricing pages fully readable to bots. Ten hid at least 40% of their body content. Four causes: client-side rendering, tabs and sliders, robots.txt blocks, and iframes.

Profound hit it too. Its pricing rendered client-side, so crawlers fetching raw HTML never saw the prices. Once it moved pricing to server-side rendering, the page became its second most-cited page and citation bot traffic rose 13% week over week.

Check yours like a bot:

1. Fetch the page with JavaScript off.
2. Confirm robots.txt lets OAI-SearchBot, Googlebot and the other search crawlers reach /pricing.
3. Look for a noindex tag in the HTML the server sends, since it can disagree with your CMS settings after a template change.
4. Show calculator results as plain text too.

Step three matters for AI search too. OpenAI's [crawler documentation](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots) says sites that opt out of OAI-SearchBot won't appear in ChatGPT search answers. Our guide to [JavaScript SEO](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/research/javascript-seo) goes deeper on rendering.

## How do you rank for "[brand] pricing" and "[brand] vs [rival] pricing" searches?

Your own pricing page usually wins your brand pricing searches once it's crawlable and clear. Rival comparisons and category pricing need pages of their own.

| Search | Page that should rank |
| --- | --- |
| acme pricing | /pricing |
| acme enterprise pricing | /pricing, with an enterprise section or its own page |
| acme vs rival pricing | A comparison page with both pricing models side by side |
| compliance software pricing | A category pricing guide with market ranges |
| acme pricing australia | A regional page or section for Australian buyers |

Comparison pages are the risky ones. A fair one states the rival's published pricing with a source and date, and says where each product suits better. Keep it honest. The buying group will open your rival's page too.

Selling into Australia and the US? If you publish prices, show A$ with GST stated for Australian buyers and US$ for American ones. Then use hreflang so each market's searchers land on the right version.

## What do enterprise and procurement buyers need from a pricing page?

Procurement teams need the commercial facts that let them open a purchase, even without a price. That means billing terms, contract options, security documents and what a quote depends on.

Big enterprise deals rarely close on a pricing page. They do get qualified or filtered out there, often before anyone books a call. More and more, someone asks a chatbot first.

Give them a short enterprise section that answers:

- What the price depends on, such as seats, usage, sites, modules or data volume, and roughly how each one moves it.
- Which contract terms you offer, from monthly through annual to multi-year, and whether you'll sign their paper.
- How you invoice: card, invoice or purchase order, plus currency and tax.
- Where the security pack lives.
- Which cloud marketplaces you sell through.
- What happens on the first call, and what you need from them beforehand to send a written quote.

Each line is a quotable fact. It's also the section we build most often in SaaS SEO work, because it's where a buying group decides whether to talk to sales.

## How do you measure whether pricing page SEO is working?

Track three things. Pricing searches in Search Console, conversions from the pricing page in GA4, and what AI answers say about your price each month.

Start with tracking you can trust, a lesson from an enterprise B2B client's account. A client's four enquiry types never counted as conversions. Their event names ran 41 to 50 characters; GA4 cuts at 40. The 40-character "career" event counted every time. Nobody had noticed, because the events still showed up.

That's how a good pricing page ends up looking dead in every report your board sees. So check that every "Talk to sales" and "Start trial" event on /pricing counts as a key event.

Then watch:

1. Search Console clicks and impressions for your brand plus "pricing", "cost" or "price".
2. Clicks to the pricing URL, by country.
3. GA4 key events that start on /pricing, followed through to the pipeline they become in your CRM.
4. Monthly answers to "Evaluate [brand] on pricing" in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews, noting every source each one leans on.

AI answers shift between runs. Judge the trend across a quarter. Our guide to [tracking AI visibility](https://www.searchmaxxed.com/research/how-to-track-ai-visibility) covers the tools and the method.

## A worked example: a SaaS company that quotes every deal

Take a venture-backed SaaS company selling a compliance platform to mid-market and enterprise teams. It's an example. Its /pricing page shows a hero line, a demo form and three customer logos, with no plan names and no table.

Ask ChatGPT what it costs and the answer pulls a figure from a Reddit thread and a pricing database. The buyer walks into the first call anchored to someone else's number.

Here's what we'd change, without publishing a fee:

1. Rewrite the H1 to "[Brand] pricing and plans".
2. Name three plans with who each suits and what it includes, so a chatbot can match a buyer to a tier.
3. State the unit, such as per audited entity on an annual contract.
4. Add an HTML comparison table.
5. Add an enterprise section on terms, invoicing, security documents and marketplace availability, linked to the trust page and the billing docs.
6. Add six FAQs and a visible update date.
7. Serve all of it server-side, then fetch the page with JavaScript switched off to confirm each fact still appears.

The number stays private. Now Google has a page that answers the search, and AI answers have the company's own facts to repeat.

## How does Searchmaxxed do pricing page SEO?

Searchmaxxed is an SEO and AI SEO agency for enterprise, B2B SaaS, venture-backed, manufacturing and public-sector companies. We do technical SEO, content, schema, link building, digital PR, GEO and AEO. The aim: rank in Google and be the name ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers give for the searches that bring pipeline.

For a pricing page, we rewrite it, rebuild the comparison table and fix rendering and schema. Every package then tracks what AI answers say about you, and Agentic Search Engineering also builds the comparison and integration pages around it.

| Package | Who it suits | What it includes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Growth System | A company growing in one or two markets | 30 page releases a month, optimisation on up to 4 existing pages, monthly technical and schema work, AI visibility tracking |
| Agentic Search Engineering | A competitive or national category | 50 page releases a month, comparison, industry and integration page families, digital PR and link campaigns, AI answer tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews |
| Custom & Enterprise | Several markets, brands or a large site | Dedicated engineering, custom reporting and original first-party research |

Here's how we do it. We build on a website you own, our Agentic Website. AI agents pull your Search Console and GA4 data, read the Google results and check what AI answers say about you and your rivals. That feeds the Managed Search Loop. It shows which change should bring in the most pipeline next: a page, a fix or a link. Off your site, the Off-Page Source Layer builds the links, digital PR and mentions that ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers draw on.

Searchmaxxed's work has generated more than A$10 million in revenue through search for its clients.

## Is Searchmaxxed right for you?

We suit marketing and growth teams that want pricing, comparison and product pages built and shipped every month, with Google and AI answers handled together. Need a one-off pricing page redesign? We're the wrong call.

| Searchmaxxed is a good fit if | Look elsewhere if |
| --- | --- |
| Your pricing page is one of many money pages you need built | You want one page redesigned once |
| You sell B2B software or services with a considered purchase | You need a conversion testing tool, not search work |
| You want SEO and AI answers handled by one team | You only want to monitor AI mentions |
| You want to own your site, repository, content and data | You want strategy advice with no changes to your site |
| You compete in a crowded category with comparison searches | You need pipeline this month from search alone |

If you're in the right-hand column, a pricing designer or a monitoring tool will serve you better.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does a pricing page help SEO?

Yes. It's usually the page that ranks for "[brand] pricing" and "[brand] cost", and AI answers lean on it when they describe your price. HockeyStack found pricing pages drew 16.5% of B2B SaaS website traffic.

### Should a pricing page be indexed?

Yes, in almost every case. A noindexed pricing page hands your brand pricing searches to review sites and forums. Check the served HTML.

### Can I rank for pricing searches without showing prices?

Yes. State your plan names, inclusions, pricing unit and how quotes work in plain text. In the Cloud 100 study, Personio's pricing page sat well above the median for AI citations while showing plans but no price points.

### What schema should a SaaS pricing page use?

Product or SoftwareApplication with Offer markup, when you show prices. Every value must match the visible page. Google's software rich result needs `offers.price` plus a rating or review.

### Why does ChatGPT show the wrong price for my software?

Usually because your own page is hard to read or says nothing about price. ChatGPT then leans on outside sources, which in the Cloud 100 study meant Vendr, Reddit and G2 most often. Make the page crawlable, state your pricing model and correct your review-site profiles.

### Where should a SaaS company put its pricing page?

At /pricing, linked from the main navigation and the footer. Link to it from product, comparison and integration pages, and link out to billing docs and your security page.

### How often should I update a pricing page?

Whenever prices, plans or terms change. Show the date on the page. Writesonic's GPT-5.5 citation study advised keeping pricing pages "up to date, dateable, and indexable".

## What should you do next?

Fetch your pricing page with JavaScript switched off, then ask ChatGPT to "Evaluate [your brand] on pricing" and compare the two. If they disagree, start there.
