Inside a 500-Page Australian SEO Authority Site

We crawled 500 StudioHawk pages and analysed where its visibility concentrates. The lesson is proof, architecture, and assets—not page count.

Topic: AI Visibility

Parent: AI Visibility

We crawled 500 pages from StudioHawk's Australian website and compared the structure with modelled Australian organic visibility data. The main finding was not “publish 500 pages”.

Visibility was highly concentrated in a small commercial nucleus, while the wider site supplied proof, expert identity, supporting answers, and linkable assets.

The site footprint

Provider: Firecrawl. Crawl date: 24 July 2026. The bounded crawl returned 500 of 500 pages successfully.

Page family Pages Median extracted words
Blog 264 2,174
Case study 59 2,981
Service 30 3,398
Industry 25 3,316
City/location 9 6,004
Team and about entities 72 Not used
Tools 6 Not used
Lead magnets 14 Not used
Other and home 20 Not used
Unclassified 1 Not used

This is a large editorial system, but size alone does not explain performance.

Where the estimated organic traffic concentrates

Provider: DataForSEO Labs, Australia, English, retrieved 24 July 2026. All traffic and keyword figures below are modelled estimates, not StudioHawk analytics.

  • 817 detected organic keywords.
  • 387 keywords in the top 10.
  • Estimated organic traffic of about 23,630 visits per month.
  • The main SEO services page accounted for 47.5% of estimated traffic.
  • The top three pages accounted for 70.4%.
  • The top five accounted for 83.6%.
  • The top ten accounted for 91.0%.

The strongest page families were the definitive SEO services page, major-city pages, homepage/Australia targeting, a pricing guide, selected high-demand blog posts, and emerging AI SEO coverage.

This is a concentrated architecture supported by a broad evidence system.

Pattern 1: one definitive commercial centre

The main SEO services page ranks across category terms rather than forcing every variation into a separate thin landing page.

The lesson is to build one genuinely definitive service source first:

  • clear category definition;
  • service components;
  • methodology;
  • fit and non-fit;
  • proof;
  • FAQs;
  • related services;
  • next step.

Supporting pages should deepen a distinct buyer job, not repeat the same pitch with swapped keywords.

Pattern 2: case studies are infrastructure

The crawl found 59 case-study pages. Service, industry, and location pages repeatedly connect to relevant examples.

DataForSEO estimates suggest the case studies contribute relatively little direct search traffic. Their job is different: substantiate claims, strengthen conversion, create internal-link destinations, and give both buyers and machines concrete evidence.

Searchmaxxed should not imitate the count. It should publish fewer case studies with claim-level evidence and connect them to the pages where trust is required.

Pattern 3: people form an entity layer

The site includes 72 team and about-related pages. This gives services and articles visible human context.

A strong expert layer can clarify:

  • who wrote or reviewed a page;
  • what they have done;
  • which topics they own;
  • which case studies involve them;
  • which external profiles corroborate their identity.

Person schema cannot manufacture expertise, but it can describe expertise that is already visible.

Pattern 4: tools and guides create reasons to link

Six tools and 14 lead magnets provide utility beyond service copy.

This matters because an agency cannot close an authority gap with self-promotional articles alone. Calculators, datasets, templates, benchmarks, and transparent methodologies give publishers and practitioners something specific to reference.

Searchmaxxed's first version of that layer is the Australian AI Search Visibility Index methodology.

Pattern 5: internal links are editorial, not incidental

StudioHawk blog pages averaged 24 unique internal page links in the crawl. They commonly connect readers to:

  • related resources;
  • relevant services;
  • case studies;
  • authors or team members;
  • tools and lead magnets.

The useful lesson is contextual movement through a topic system. The weakness is repetition: large case-study grids and repeated modules can inflate link counts and page weight without improving the decision.

Searchmaxxed will use smaller, hand-picked related sets tied to the current page's job.

What we will not copy

This research is a structural benchmark, not permission to reproduce protected expression.

We will not copy:

  • wording or close paraphrases;
  • heading sequences;
  • visual design;
  • page layouts;
  • menu structures;
  • screenshots;
  • schema payloads;
  • source code;
  • lead-magnet copy;
  • case-study claims.

The transferable ideas are categories: definitive service coverage, evidence-connected internal links, human attribution, useful tools, and research assets.

The Searchmaxxed version

Our smaller target system is:

  1. a tight commercial nucleus across SEO, AI search, AEO, GEO, and AI Overview pages;
  2. original recovery case studies using first-party evidence;
  3. a transparent Australian AI visibility research program;
  4. approved proof connected to the right service pages;
  5. contextual links rather than giant repeated grids;
  6. city and industry expansion only when unique evidence exists.

That is deliberately smaller than 500 pages. The goal is to earn the right to expand.

FAQs

Does publishing hundreds of articles create topical authority?

Not by itself. Authority also depends on usefulness, originality, architecture, proof, entities, external corroboration, and how well the strongest pages satisfy demand.

Should an agency build location pages?

Only when each location page can provide unique local proof, people, examples, market context, or service information. Swapping city names in repeated copy is not the model.

Do case studies need to rank?

No. They can justify claims, improve conversion, earn links, and strengthen related commercial pages even with modest direct traffic.

Are backlinks the main difference?

Authority breadth matters, but raw totals can be inflated by sitewide links, directories, and networks. Relevant independent referring domains are a better target than total backlink volume.

For a site architecture built around proof rather than page count, start with a Searchmaxxed audit.
