Law Firm Website Design, Built to Rank and Win New Matters
What does good law firm website design do?
Good law firm website design gets your firm found when someone searches for legal help. Then it makes choosing you and calling easy. We build websites for law firms that rank in Google and get named in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews. A beautiful site that brings in no enquiries is an expensive brochure.
There are two ways in. The Agentic Website Full Build is a new site from the ground up. It covers market research, sitemap, design system, practice area pages, technical SEO, conversion paths and measurement. The Agentic Migration keeps a design worth keeping and moves your site onto infrastructure you own, ready for ongoing search work.
Every word sits under Rule 36 of the Australian Solicitors' Conduct Rules. Your advertising can't be false, misleading or deceptive, and that covers your website. We write inside those rules, and the plain, specific pages they reward are the pages Google and AI answers can use.
Searchmaxxed is an AI-native search team. We make your company the answer in Google and in the AI engines your buyers ask.

Why do so many law firm websites bring in so few matters?
Many law firm websites bring in few matters because they look respectable but stay hard to find. One page lists every practice area, the copy talks about values, and the fees sit behind a phone call. Google has nothing exact to match to a search like unfair dismissal lawyer Parramatta. So the client calls the firm that answered it.
Clients notice the rest. In a 2024 US survey reported by the Law Society Journal, 44.3% of people said an out-of-date website would make them doubt a firm's quality. UK clients surveyed in 2026 rank a description of services, likely costs and lawyer profiles near the top of what they expect online.
It doesn't have to stay that way.
Every practice area on one page
One page can't rank for family law, wills and employment law at once. Each practice area and matter needs a page of its own.
Fees hidden behind a phone call
Clients want an idea of cost before they ring. A fee page written inside the rules answers that and keeps them on your site.
Lawyer profiles that create risk
The Law Society of NSW warns that calling someone a solicitor before their practising certificate arrives breaches the Legal Profession Uniform Law. Loose specialist wording carries the same kind of risk.
Slow, dated and awkward on a phone
A slow page or a buried phone number sends a client with an urgent problem straight to the next firm in the results.
How competitive is SEO for law firms in Australia?
The searches your clients make add up to about 43,700 a month in Australia across the five below. The biggest, “lawyer”, gets about 22,200 a month. Keyword difficulty runs from 0 to 100: the higher it is, the stronger the pages you have to beat.
| SEARCH | MONTHLY SEARCHES (AU) | DIFFICULTY |
|---|---|---|
| lawyer | 22,200 | 39 |
| family lawyer | 9,900 | 20 |
| lawyer near me | 4,400 | 28 |
| criminal lawyer | 3,600 | 18 |
| employment lawyer | 3,600 | 10 |

What does SEO for law firms cost in Australia?
In a competitive market, law firm SEO in Australia means budgeting for a serious program rather than a starter package. StudioHawk, one of Australia's larger agencies, puts comprehensive SEO for national and ecommerce brands at $5,000 or more a month. It puts growth-focused work at $1,500 to $3,000.
Audits and site migrations are usually quoted as projects, from about $2,000 to $10,000, depending on the size of the site.
The right budget depends on how competitive your searches are and how much of the work your site needs. We quote each business after a free growth plan, and we don't publish prices.
How do clients find and choose a law firm online?
Clients looking for a law firm online start with their problem, then search for the type of lawyer, then choose a firm they trust. In Clio's 2026 Legal Trends Report, 46% of US consumers said they would consult AI before contacting a lawyer. A law firm website has to answer them at every step.
1. Asking about the problem
The first questions go to Google or ChatGPT. A clear guide on your site earns the visit and gives AI answers something to cite.
2. Naming the lawyer they need
Next they search for the type of lawyer. A practice area page that answers their situation wins this search.
3. Shortlisting firms nearby
Then they add a suburb or near me. Office pages and your Google Business Profile decide who makes the shortlist.
4. Checking you before they call
Clio found clients still choose a lawyer on quality, experience and cost. Lawyer profiles, fee pages and reviews turn that check into a booked consultation.
What goes into a law firm website we build?
Every law firm website we build has five parts. We build practice area and matter pages, office and lawyer pages, and fast pages Google and AI can read. We check the claims on each page against Rule 36 and track enquiries from day one. Each part helps your firm get found, get chosen or stay inside the rules.

How do we design and build a law firm website?
We design a law firm website backwards from the searches your clients make and the matters you want more of. Each search gets a page built around how clients choose a lawyer and easy to use on a phone. We check each claim against Rule 36 as we write. You own the site, code, content and data.

How do you know the new website is working?
You know a new law firm website is working by the enquiries and new matters it brings in, which we measure for each practice area. Search Console shows the searches and clicks behind every page. If you share your CRM or intake records, we track which searches and AI answers turned into paid work.
Google counts clicks from AI Overviews and AI Mode in the Search Console Performance report, under the Web search type. Our numbers cover classic results and AI features together.
Enquiries per practice area
GA4 and your enquiry forms count enquiries for each practice area page. You see which areas bring in work and which pages need more.
Searches and clicks per page
Search Console shows the searches and clicks for each practice area, office and guide page. We compare matched periods month to month.
Matters and revenue from search
With your intake data, we trace new matters back to the search or AI answer that started them.
AI answer presence
We ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google who to see for a legal problem in your city. We log who gets named and which page gets cited.
