Disclosure: Searchmaxxed wrote this list and is in it, and we put ourselves first.
The best construction SEO company for a premium builder or specialist contractor publishes results from builders like you and tells you what it costs. It should also get you named in AI answers. Our pick is Searchmaxxed, for builders and contractors who want one team to make them the answer in Google and the AI engines. The eight others worth a call are Builder Funnel, Contractor Growth Network, Hook Agency, Blue Corona, Thrive, Helium SEO, RSM Marketing and New Home Star. Published prices run from about $2,000 to $10,000+ monthly.
This is our own selection. No award or survey sits behind it. We read every agency's own construction, contractor or builder pages on 3 November 2026, and each entry uses only what that agency publishes about itself.

How did we choose them?
We started from the agencies Google showed in the US for "construction seo company", "contractor seo company", "construction seo agency" and "home builder marketing agency". Each one faced the same five tests:
- Construction focus. Does it work only with builders, remodelers and contractors, or is construction one industry on a long list of them?
- Construction proof. A named builder or contractor, with a number and a timeframe.
- Price and terms. What it costs, how long the contract runs, and whether ad spend or a new website sits on top of the fee.
- What it builds versus reports. Pages, fixes and tracking that go live on your site count for more than a dashboard.
- AI search. A published offer for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews.
Every fact below comes from the agency's own pages on 3 November 2026, and we quote its results as its own claims. Client happiness is a separate test.
1\. Searchmaxxed: best for premium builders who want to be the answer in Google and AI search
Searchmaxxed is an AI-native search team for custom and luxury home builders, design-build remodelers, and the commercial and specialist contractors behind big projects. We go after the project searches that bring in big jobs, and the AI answers clients now read before they call. You own the site and the data.
- What we sell: We build and improve your website, project pages and articles. We fix the technical SEO and earn your place in Google, AI Overviews and ChatGPT. You get the reach of a much larger team with the focus of a small one. You talk to the people doing the work, with no account manager in between.
- Proof we publish: Searchmaxxed's work has generated more than $15 million in revenue through search for its clients. We haven't published a construction case study yet, so we won't pretend otherwise.
- Reporting: We track which searches and AI answers turn into revenue, through your CRM as well as inquiries in GA4.
- Pricing: Quoted after a free search analysis.
- AI search: AI search comes first for us. We track what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews say when someone asks for a builder in your market.
- Ask us: Which three project searches in my market would you go after first?
2\. Builder Funnel: best for custom home builders and remodelers who want a full system
Builder Funnel works only with residential remodelers and custom home builders, and has for 16 years, by its CEO's account. It sells a whole marketing system first: website, SEO, CRM, tracking and lead generation. Then a monthly retainer keeps it growing. It publishes its prices.
- What they sell: Strategy, website design, SEO, an "AIO" service for ChatGPT and AI Overviews, Google and Meta ads, video, social and email.
- Proof they publish: "$2.3M+ in Revenue for a KC Luxury Home Builder in Under 9 Months." A Calgary remodeler "Achieved 148% ROI and Closed $403K in Organic Search Deals". It says it has tracked "$250M+ in results" across its clients.
- Pricing: The foundation system starts at $5,000 monthly for the three months it takes to build. Retainers then run $3,500, $5,000 or $7,500 monthly. Technology starts at $540 monthly, and ad spend is separate.
- AI search: A case study claims "AI Referrals Increased by 400%+ for a Charlotte Builder & Remodeler".
- Ask them: How much of the KC builder's $2.3M came from organic search, and how much from ads?
3\. Contractor Growth Network: best for design-build remodelers from $2M to $7M
Contractor Growth Network says it only works with remodelers, and its SEO page names its fit plainly: "a $2M-$7M design-build remodeling firm". It publishes three prices, sized by your market's population, and it's the most candid page here about how slowly SEO builds.
- What they sell: SEO with monthly content, project stories, Google Business Profile work, citations and links. You need its website too. Its FAQ says SEO without redoing your site is "not with us".
- Proof they publish: Clients with its website average 8.5 form submissions monthly, it says, against 1.4 without one. David Campbell of 360 Construction credits the website for a lead on "a whole new house in a million-dollar neighborhood".
- Pricing: $3,150 monthly for smaller markets, $4,900 for mid-sized and $6,400 for large metros. You commit for 12 months, then it runs month to month.
- AI search: Every plan includes "Google Business & AI Search Optimization", aimed at ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI.
- Ask them: It expects 3 to 5 qualified leads monthly by month 12 for a new client. What did that look like in a market my size?
4\. Hook Agency: best for growth-mode contractors that want SEO, AEO and ads
Hook Agency works only with contractors and home service businesses, from roofing and HVAC to concrete and fencing. It aims at companies "scaling from $3M to $15M in revenue", and its contact form marks under $1M as "Not a Fit at This Time".
- What they sell: Local SEO and AEO, Google Ads and Local Service Ads, Meta ads and contractor websites, plus a commercial construction marketing service.
- Proof they publish: It claims "$240M+ Revenue Driven" for "200+ Contractors Served". On its commercial construction page, Courtney Construction "Turned $6K in Ad Spend Into $105K in Sold Work". That is a paid ads result, not SEO.
- Reviews: Its homepage shows "175+ Google Reviews".
- Pricing: Local SEO + AEO costs $3,750 monthly, with heavier SEO options available. Google Ads and LSA start at $2,000 monthly, and Meta ads at $3,000 monthly.
- AI search: Its SEO plan tracks "25+ ChatGPT prompts" and reports on them monthly.
- Ask them: Which construction client grew its organic leads, and over what period?
5\. Blue Corona: best for established contractors who want a large shop and no long contract
Blue Corona suits a contractor or home builder that wants a big team, published prices and no lock-in. Its construction page says it judges success by leads, sales and return on marketing spend rather than rankings, and it serves home builders too.
- What they sell: Construction SEO, from keyword research and competitor analysis to local listings, content and analytics, alongside paid media.
- Proof they publish: "See how one remodeler increased online leads by 486%." For American Vintage Home it claims "500+ Keywords ranked on page one", a 10% rise in validated leads from SEO and a "77:1 ROI".
- Pricing: Audits typically cost $2,500 to $3,500. Ongoing SEO runs from $2,000 to $10,000 or more monthly.
- Terms: It promises no long-term contracts, and you keep "every single deliverable".
- AI search: None on the construction page we read.
- Ask them: Of that 486%, how much came from organic search?
6\. Thrive: best for multi-location construction and restoration companies
Thrive Internet Marketing Agency is a large agency with a dedicated construction SEO page and services from web design to Amazon advertising. It suits a construction or restoration company with several offices.
- What they sell: Keyword research, link building, content, on-page and technical SEO, local SEO, franchise SEO for multi-location firms, conversion work and Google Analytics reviews.
- Proof they publish: Its Nationwide Construction case study claims "+127% increase in organic search traffic" and "+800% increase in online leads" after one year.
- Reviews: The page shows "150+" Google reviews and "100+" Clutch reviews. It calls itself a Google Premier Partner.
- Pricing: Not published. Its proposal form's monthly budget brackets start at $2,500 to $5,000, excluding ad spend.
- AI search: None on the construction page.
- Ask them: What were Nationwide Construction's lead numbers before and after, not just the percentage?
7\. Helium SEO: best for construction firms that want SEO and paid search together
Helium SEO runs SEO and pay-per-click side by side, turning on paid ads first so calls start "in less than 30 days". It publishes a starting price. It also gives the sharpest advice we read anywhere for commercial contractors: "Commercial construction has small query volumes and long cycles."
- What they sell: Technical, on-page and entity SEO, schema, link building and content, plus PPC and paid social. Its free audit comes back as a 90-day plan with a projected cost per lead for each channel.
- Proof they publish: It claims a "400%+ Average Client ROI" and "200+ Businesses Served". The construction page shows no named construction case study.
- Reviews: Its Google review widget reads "Based on 46 reviews".
- Pricing: Campaigns start at $3,000 monthly, with PPC included.
- AI search: It places "an AI script in your website code" to turn page text into machine-readable formats.
- Ask them: Which construction client can I speak to?
8\. RSM Marketing: best for trade and specialty contractors
RSM Marketing says "we work only with construction companies", and its header names Kansas City and Wichita. Its industry list runs from concrete, insulation and flooring to general contractors and remodelers, so it suits a trade contractor wanting a construction-only team.
- What they sell: Technical SEO, keyword mapping to service and project pages, local SEO, Google Business Profile management, reviews, listings, copywriting and backlinks.
- Proof they publish: "201% Increase in Conversions (Phone Calls & Form Fills)" and "2123% Increase in Organic Search Traffic", without a client name.
- Pricing: Not published. Its form asks for your annual revenue.
- Reporting: An SEO roadmap and "a 24/7 reporting dashboard".
- AI search: None on the SEO page we read.
- Ask them: Whose results are the 201% and the 2123%, and over what period?
9\. New Home Star: best for production builders opening new communities
New Home Star serves only home builders. Its work centers on community launches and model home traffic, which makes it a different call from the custom builder specialists above. Think production builders with lots to sell.
- What they sell: SEO, PPC, social media, syndication, display ads, signage, grand openings, email and website strategy, run as one demand generation program.
- Proof they publish: None with numbers on the builder marketing page we read.
- Pricing: Not published.
- AI search: None on the builder marketing page.
- Ask them: How much of a community's traffic do you expect from organic search, and how do you track it?
How do these agencies compare on proof, terms and AI search?
Six of the nine publish a construction result, but fewer tell you the terms or show any AI search work. Here's what each one's own pages show.
| Agency | Best published construction result | Terms | AI search |
|---|---|---|---|
| Searchmaxxed | No construction case study yet | Agreed on the call | Tracks four AI engines |
| Builder Funnel | $2.3M+ revenue, luxury home builder | Three-month build, then retainer | AI referrals +400% claim |
| Contractor Growth Network | 8.5 forms monthly with its website | 12 months, then monthly | In every plan |
| Hook Agency | $105K sold work from ads | Not stated | 25+ ChatGPT prompts tracked |
| Blue Corona | Remodeler +486% online leads | No long-term contracts | Not on the page |
| Thrive | +800% online leads | Not stated | Not on the page |
| Helium SEO | None named for construction | Not stated | Structured data script |
| RSM Marketing | +201% conversions, client unnamed | Not stated | Not on the page |
| New Home Star | None published | Not stated | Not on the page |
"Not on the page" means the page we read didn't cover it, so the agency may still do the work and you should ask.
How should you choose a construction SEO company?
Choose the agency that fits your kind of building and proves its tracking. Even Google's AI Mode, asked for a "construction seo company" on 3 November 2026, answered with two questions of its own. Do you want local leads or commercial contracts? Full marketing, or SEO alone? Answer both, then run these seven checks on every agency:
- Ask for a builder like you. A remodeling result tells a commercial electrical contractor little, so ask for the project type, market size and timeframe.
- Ask which pages they'd build first. Custom homes, additions and commercial fit-outs are different searches, and each needs its own page. Back each one with finished projects.
- Ask how they handle your license number. In California, the Contractors State License Board says "BPC § 7030.5 requires inclusion of a license number in all forms of" advertising. Your website counts. Check your own state's rule too.
- Ask them to prove the tracking. A quote form that never reaches your reports looks the same as a quiet month, and nobody notices.
- Ask what ChatGPT says about you today. BrightLocal's 2026 survey found 45% of consumers use AI tools for local business recommendations, up from 6% the year before.
- Ask how they'll build your reviews. Google says local results are "mainly based on relevance, distance, and popularity".
- Ask about terms and people. Ask who does the work, and how you leave: terms here run from no lock-in to a 12-month commitment.
Check four deserves a real example. A client's four enquiry types never counted as conversions. Their event names ran 41 to 50 characters; GA4 cuts at 40. The 40-character "career" event counted every time. Nobody had noticed, because the events still showed up. A builder running a quote form, a plan-download form and a callback form can carry the same blind spot for months.
Check five matters because ranking alone no longer gets you named: in Ahrefs' March 2026 data, only 38% of AI Overview citations ranked top 10. Review sites carry weight there too. Perplexity cited a review directory (Semrush Agencies, Clutch, DesignRush and the like) in 36 of 44 agency answers. ChatGPT did it in 20 and Claude in 15. One agency's Clutch profile had six reviews and was cited 20 times.
What does construction SEO cost in 2026?
Published construction SEO prices run from about $2,000 to $10,000+ monthly, depending on the agency and the plan. Most specialist plans sit between $3,000 and $7,500 monthly. Most agencies quote only after a first call. Three things move the price: your market's size, the number of project types you want, and whether ads or a new website come bundled.
| Source | What it publishes | Monthly ($) |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Corona | Ongoing SEO range | 2,000 to 10,000+ |
| Helium SEO | SEO and PPC campaigns | From 3,000 |
| Contractor Growth Network | Small, mid-sized and large markets, 12 months | 3,150, 4,900, 6,400 |
| Builder Funnel | Retainers, after a 3-month build at 5,000 | 3,500, 5,000, 7,500 |
| Hook Agency | Local SEO + AEO | From 3,750 |
| Thrive | Lowest monthly budget bracket on its form | 2,500 to 5,000 |
| Construction Marketing Association | Market estimate, mid-market contractors | 2,500 to 6,000 |
Sources: each agency's own pricing or service page, plus the Construction Marketing Association's 2026 guide, all read on 3 November 2026.
Budget from the job, not the fee. Builder Funnel's CEO tells remodelers and builders to "plan on 3–5% of your goal revenue" for marketing, with at least half going to digital. Contractor Growth Network puts "the average kitchen remodel you do" at $100K, and says its SEO "costs less than one project".
How long does construction SEO take to work?
Construction SEO takes months, not weeks. Contractor Growth Network says new clients see small ranking gains by months 3 to 4 and a trickle of leads around month 9. By its count, 3 to 5+ leads monthly arrive around month 12. The Construction Marketing Association puts real ranking movement at 3 to 6 months. Newer sites in big metros run slowest, which is why several agencies here pair SEO with paid search to fill the gap.
Is Searchmaxxed right for you?
Searchmaxxed fits if one project is worth tens of thousands of dollars to you. And you want your name in front of clients in Google and the AI answers. Think custom home builders and specialist contractors. It suits owners who want AI search optimization and local SEO from one team, plus a clear view of which searches turned into revenue. You'll need to share finished projects, photos and the details that make each job worth a page of its own on your site.
Here's the turnaround we work for. One client came to us with a website that wasn't working. Three months later he was on page one for one of the most competitive searches in his industry. Now he has more high-intent leads than he can handle, and we're building the systems to handle them.
We're the wrong call in four cases:
- You need leads this month to stay afloat. Search compounds over months. Paid ads alone, or a lead marketplace, can move faster.
- You want the cheapest retainer. We recommend the scope and quote it after looking at your website, market and goals.
- You want a published price before you talk. Builder Funnel, Contractor Growth Network, Hook Agency, Blue Corona and Helium SEO all publish theirs.
- You need a published construction case study first. We don't have one yet. Builder Funnel, Blue Corona and Thrive each publish construction results.
Where should you start?
Pick two or three that fit the way you build, ask each the same seven questions, and hire the one that names its first pages. Want Searchmaxxed on that shortlist? We'll check 10 buying questions your clients ask in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews and show you who gets named. Then we walk you through it on a 30-minute call. Frequently asked questions
What does a construction SEO company do?
A construction SEO company gets your business found when clients search for the projects you build, then turns those searches into quote requests. The work covers technical fixes, project and service pages, location pages, your Google Business Profile, reviews, links and what AI tools say about you. Good ones report signed projects.
How much does SEO cost for a construction company?
Published prices run from about $2,000 to $10,000+ monthly. Contractor Growth Network publishes $3,150 to $6,400 monthly on a 12-month term, and Hook Agency's Local SEO + AEO plan costs $3,750 monthly.
Is SEO worth it for builders and contractors?
Yes, for most premium builders. A custom home, a whole-home addition or a commercial fit-out can be worth more than a full year of SEO fees on its own. Need leads this month? Paid ads usually move faster than SEO while your rankings build.
Should I hire a construction specialist or a general SEO agency?
Pick on proof, not the label. Specialists already know how clients search for builders, from project types to licenses and long sales cycles, so they waste less time learning. A generalist can still win for you if it builds the right project pages and tracks signed work rather than traffic.
What's the difference between contractor SEO and local SEO?
Contractor SEO includes local SEO. Local SEO covers your Google Business Profile, reviews and map rankings, while contractor SEO adds service, project and region pages, license details and quote tracking.
Do builders need AI search optimization as well as SEO?
Yes, because clients now ask AI which builder to trust, and BrightLocal's 2026 survey found 45% of consumers use AI tools for local recommendations. Your reviews and listings feed those answers.
How do I check a construction SEO company's results?
Ask for the client's name, the starting point, the timeframe and the source of every number, then ask whether it came from SEO or ads. Then call a client like you.
