Key takeaways

Bluefish AI is a demo-only AI visibility and AEO platform for Fortune 500 brands, with no public price and a services team most customers add.

  • It tracks 10+ AI models daily, Alexa for Shopping included, and fact-checks what they say about you.
  • It turns gaps into Agentic Campaigns for your teams, then measures each change against a fixed baseline so model updates don't muddy the result.
  • Most customers add its services team (85%).
  • Its only published cost figure sits in a Forrester study it commissioned: $2.9 million in total costs over three years, for a modelled 20-brand company.

Selling B2B software or security? Find out where AI answers leave you out first, then decide whether you need software, people or both to fix it.

Bluefish AI is an enterprise platform that tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews describe your brand, then helps you change it. It covers Amazon Rufus as well. There's no public price, so you request a demo and settle the cost with Bluefish's sales team before you see a number. Our verdict: it's a strong pick for Fortune 500 consumer brands whose brand, content, PR and retail teams will act on what it finds. Need the work done for you? A managed team fits better.

Here at Searchmaxxed, we're that team for law firms, clinics and premium builders. We make your company the answer in Google and in the AI engines your buyers ask, then turn those answers into high-intent leads and pipeline. Searchmaxxed is our company.

What is Bluefish AI?

Bluefish AI is a New York company, launched in 2024, that sells what it calls "the Agentic Marketing Platform for the Fortune 500". Its software shows marketers how AI engines talk about their brand, and what to change. Its legal name is Bluefish Labs, Inc.

The founders come from ad tech. CEO Alex Sherman co-founded PromoteIQ, which Microsoft bought in 2019, and CTO Andrei Dunca co-founded LiveRail, which Facebook bought in 2014. COO Jing Feng held senior roles at Microsoft, PromoteIQ and LiveRail.

The money came fast. Bluefish raised a $20 million Series A in 2025, then a $43 million Series B in April 2026. NEA led the first round with Salesforce Ventures, and Threshold Ventures co-led the second with NEA, taking total funding to $68 million in two years.

Named customers include Adidas, American Express, Hearst, LVMH, Ulta Beauty, eBay and Tishman Speyer, and about 10% of the Fortune 500 use it. It employs more than 120 people. Its October 2026 release counts hundreds of enterprise accounts across 15 verticals, including travel, financial services, CPG, luxury and beauty.

Bluefish calls its field AEO. AEO (answer engine optimisation) means getting your brand named, and described well, in AI answers. Many teams call the same work GEO, short for generative engine optimisation.

What does Bluefish AI do?

Bluefish AI does three jobs in one platform: it monitors what AI says about your brand, suggests and coordinates fixes, and measures what moved. Strategists and analysts sit on top.

PartWhat it doesFeatures Bluefish names
AI Monitoring SuiteShows how AI describes you against competitorsCustom Audiences, Impact Score, Influence Rank, Sentiment, Citation Analysis, AI Accuracy
AI Optimization SuiteTurns gaps into ranked tactics for each teamAgentic Campaigns, Data Syndication, Bluefish Agents (MCP), Paid Media Briefs
AI Measurement SuiteTies each change to the metric it movedCollections, Trend Analysis, Attribution, fixed-prompt baselines
Strategy & ServicesPeople who audit, plan and run the programCustom AI Brand Audit, AEO execution plans, executive briefings

Monitoring goes past one visibility score: Bluefish breaks visibility and share of voice out by the customer personas you define. In Bluefish's words: "A 50% average score can hide a 92%-to-8% gap between your best- and worst-seen audiences."

AI Accuracy launched on 5 May 2026. It loads your first-party content into a Brand Vault, then checks every claim AI makes about you and traces each error to its URL. Bluefish says the method agrees with independent human review 91% of the time.

Agentic Campaigns arrived on 18 June 2026. You set a target for AI Visibility, Favorability, Safety or Accuracy, and Bluefish's agents draft a plan of tactics ranked by likely impact. You keep approval control.

Then came paid media. On 27 October 2026, Bluefish added Paid Media Briefs, which give media teams ad targeting, creative and landing-page advice for Google and ChatGPT. Its research behind the launch found different brands leading AI answers on Google and ChatGPT in 35% of 5,810 buying topics.

Measurement runs on static prompts. A static prompt set is a fixed list of questions asked the same way every day, so you can separate your impact from model drift.

Security teams will want the badges: SOC 2 Type II, SSO, MFA, HIPAA-ready, and API and MCP access, all listed on its product pages.

Which AI engines does Bluefish track?

Bluefish's site promises "10+ LLMs tracked daily including Alexa for Shopping, plus 15+ provider integrations". Its pages name ChatGPT, Google AI, Claude, Perplexity, Amazon Rufus and Meta AI, plus Walmart's Sparky for retail.

Get the exact engines, countries and languages in your contract, since a B2B shortlist in ChatGPT and a Rufus shelf are different jobs.

How much does Bluefish AI cost?

Bluefish AI doesn't publish its prices. There's no pricing page or self-serve plan. Every path ends at "Request a demo" or a contact form. Even its case studies end on the same note: "Connect with our sales team to request a demo or discuss pricing."

Any monthly price you see elsewhere didn't come from Bluefish. One cost figure did, inside a study Bluefish paid for. Forrester Consulting's Total Economic Impact study, from 2026, models a $35 billion company rolling Bluefish out to 20 brands over three years. Brands join in stages: 5, 10, 20.

Forrester's modelled companyFigure Bluefish publishes
Size$35 billion, 20 brands
Total costs, three-year model$2.9 million
Projected ROI220% to 446%
Net present value$6.4 million to $12.9 million
Share of benefit from saved timeAbout 2%

That's a model, not a quote. Forrester built the composite from interviews with six Bluefish customers, and it tells readers to plug their own estimates into its framework. It does tell you where Bluefish pitches itself, though: multi-brand enterprises where a few points of AI-driven revenue run into the tens of millions.

Plan for people as well as software. Bluefish says "85% of customers use Bluefish Services", which run from a one-time diagnostic and custom brand audit up to ongoing AEO change management. Ask for the platform and the services as separate lines in your quote.

Is Bluefish AI any good?

Yes, for the right buyer. Run a large consumer brand with separate brand, content, PR, paid and retail teams, and it gives every team one view of AI.

What stands out:

  1. Depth on how AI describes you: sentiment, audiences, the sources AI leans on, and an accuracy check on every claim it makes about your brand.
  2. Measurement that survives a board meeting. Fixed prompts and dated tactics tie each lift to its cause.
  3. Shopping assistant coverage, with Alexa for Shopping and Amazon Rufus, which counts for a lot when retailers and marketplaces sell most of your products.
  4. A services team of strategists and analysts.

Take one of Bluefish's own case studies. A global luxury lifestyle brand found ChatGPT citing hardly any of its own pages, so its story came from other sites. Bluefish's citation data traced the cause to the brand's own site security, which was turning away the crawlers ChatGPT relies on. The brand unblocked them. Its influence rank in ChatGPT climbed from 14th to 8th in 30 days, and its brand manager says citation frequency tripled.

Notice who made the fix, though. Bluefish found the problem, and the brand's own team changed the site. Bluefish builds for that: its own pages say improving AI answers "requires changes across content, SEO, PR, commerce, media and other marketing functions". So it pays off when those teams have time.

Is Bluefish AI a good fit for B2B SaaS and cybersecurity companies?

It can be. The customers, case studies and verticals Bluefish publishes lean to consumer brands and retail, so test the fit before you book a demo. Your buyers ask AI a different question.

They want a shortlist. G2's 2026 survey of 1,076 B2B software buyers found 51% now start research in an AI chatbot more often than in Google. AI chatbots were the top source shaping which vendors made the shortlist. And 69% chose a different vendor than planned because of a chatbot's guidance.

Those answers lean hard on what other sites say, and we saw it in our own AI answer panels for Australian agency questions:

"Across 900 ChatGPT answers about Australian agencies, a single third-party "best agencies" site was cited in 168 of them. The next three were a second listicle, Semrush's agency directory and Clutch. If you want to be recommended, the job is getting onto the handful of pages the model already trusts."

"Perplexity cited a review directory (Semrush Agencies, Clutch, DesignRush and the like) in 36 of 44 agency answers. ChatGPT did it in 20 and Claude in 15. One agency's Clutch profile had six reviews and was cited 20 times."

A monitoring platform will show you that pattern in your own category, but someone still has to win the review profiles, lists and trade press. Then someone has to publish pages that answer your buyers' questions, and fix whatever stops AI crawlers reading them on your own site. Ask yourself one plain question. Does your team have those hours?

If yes, a platform like Bluefish gives that team a sharper map, and its services team can add strategists on top. If no, fund the work first. Our guide to how to show up in AI search lays out that work, engine by engine.

What are the best Bluefish AI alternatives?

The best Bluefish AI alternative depends on whether you want an enterprise platform, a self-serve tracker or a team that does the work. Profound is the closest enterprise match. Peec AI, Scrunch and OtterlyAI publish prices you can buy today. Semrush suits teams already paying for it. Searchmaxxed is ours, and it's a managed team, so we list it as the option for companies that want results handled.

Bluefish AI or Searchmaxxed: which is right for you?

Bluefish suits multi-brand consumer companies with teams ready to act on AI data. Searchmaxxed suits B2B software and security companies that want buyers to hear their name in AI answers, with a team doing the work.

We go after the answers your buyers see in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews. And we do the work ourselves. There's no account manager in the middle: you talk straight to the team building your results, and they know your buyers. We track which searches and AI answers turn into revenue, for example through your CRM, as well as enquiries in GA4. And the site, content and data stay yours from day one.

One client came to us with a website that wasn't working. Three months later he was on page one for one of the most competitive searches in his industry. Now he has more high-intent leads than he can handle, and we're building the systems to handle them.

That's one story.

Searchmaxxed's work has generated more than $15 million in revenue through search for its clients.

"I can't believe this worked." That's what we hear. Clients tell us they finally found a growth partner in search that keeps its word and gets things done.

We're the wrong call in three cases. If you need leads this month just to survive, search takes longer than that, and if you want the cheapest retainer, we won't be it. And if you're a 20-brand consumer group that wants one platform for brand, PR, content and retail, Bluefish designed its whole product for you.

The full scope is on our AI search optimisation service page. Pick Searchmaxxed if you want your name in the AI shortlist, so more of the right buyers ask to talk to you.

What should you ask Bluefish in a demo?

Ask about coverage, prompts, tiers, services, data and terms. Bluefish publishes no price list, so the answers to these nine questions are, in effect, the spec sheet you'll compare against other vendors:

  1. Which engines, countries and languages does my contract cover, and how often does each one run?
  2. Who writes the prompts?
  3. How do you keep my prompt set fixed when the models change, so I can trust a lift?
  4. Which features sit in my tier, and which cost extra?
  5. Are services in the quote?
  6. Which B2B software or cybersecurity customers can I speak to?
  7. Can I export raw prompts, answers and citations through your API or MCP, and keep them for good after the contract ends?
  8. Can I see your SOC 2 Type II report under NDA?
  9. What contract term and notice period apply?

Ask every vendor on your shortlist the same nine questions, and the answers will sort them faster than any feature grid.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bluefish AI have a free trial?

No. Bluefish's website offers demos rather than a free trial or a self-serve plan. Pricing comes through its sales team. To test a tracker before talking to sales, look at Profound's free trial or the entry plans Scrunch, Peec AI and OtterlyAI publish.

Who owns Bluefish AI?

Bluefish AI belongs to Bluefish Labs, a venture-backed company. Its co-founders run it: Alex Sherman (CEO), Jing Feng (COO) and Andrei Dunca (CTO). Its investors include NEA, Threshold Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Amex Ventures, TIAA Ventures and Bloomberg Beta, and it has raised $68 million in total.

Is Bluefish AI SOC 2 compliant?

Yes, Bluefish's product pages list SOC 2 Type II. They also list SSO, MFA, HIPAA readiness, and API and MCP access, so ask sales for the SOC 2 report itself during your security review.

What's the difference between Bluefish AI and Profound?

Both sell custom enterprise plans. Profound also publishes a free seven-day trial and tracks up to nine answer engines on Enterprise. Bluefish sells by demo only and leads with accuracy checks, Agentic Campaigns and shopping assistants such as Alexa for Shopping and Amazon Rufus.

Is Bluefish AI good for small businesses?

No. Bluefish built its platform for large enterprises, and its site calls it "the Agentic Marketing Platform for the Fortune 500". Small teams usually do better with a published price. OtterlyAI starts at $29 monthly, and Peec AI at $95.

Can Bluefish AI get my company recommended by ChatGPT?

Bluefish can show you where ChatGPT leaves you out, which sources it trusts and which tactics should move the answer first. Your pages, crawler access and what other sites say about you have to change. That work falls to your teams, Bluefish's services team or a search team like ours, and the answers move only once it's done.

What does Bluefish mean by agentic marketing?

Agentic marketing is Bluefish's term for running AI as a marketing channel. Software agents do much of the analysis. Its agents study your AI performance, draft ranked tactics and track each change, while your teams carry them out and approve the plan.
