- Stay with Peec AI when three AI models cover your buyers. Starter costs €85/mo for 50 prompts.[1]
- The lowest paid entry prices belong to Rankscale ($20/mo), Otterly AI ($29/month) and ZipTie (from $42.75/mo). AthenaHQ also has a free plan.[2][3][6][4]
- The most engines on a self-serve plan sit with AthenaHQ Starter at 11 models and Rankscale at ten.[4][2]
- Enterprise teams get up to 9 answer engines on Profound Enterprise.[5]
- Every tool samples answers, and the same prompt can change from one run to the next.[7]
- A tracker leaves the fix to you. Our Managed Search Loop picks the next job, and we build it.
The best Peec AI alternative depends on your budget, your engines and your stack. Stay with Peec AI if three AI models cover your buyers and your team wants daily numbers from €85/mo.[1] On a small budget, switch to Rankscale at $20/mo or Otterly AI at $29/month.[2][3] For Claude and many other models on a self-serve plan, look at AthenaHQ or Rankscale.[4][2] Enterprise brands should trial Profound.[5] Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking users can add AI tracking to the suite they already pay for. I'm Brenden House, I run Searchmaxxed, and this list is my own selection.
Which Peec AI alternatives made my list?
My list holds nine tools like Peec AI, and each one tracks how AI answers mention or cite a brand. A prompt is a question the tool sends to an AI engine on your behalf. I read each vendor's own pricing and feature pages on 28 September 2026. This is my selection, and I didn't test each vendor's data quality.

Peec AI pricing: when is Peec still the right choice?
Peec AI is still the right choice when three AI models cover your buyers and your whole team wants the same daily numbers. Starter costs €85/mo for 50 prompts, Pro €205/mo for 150 and Advanced €425/mo for 350.[1]
- What it does: Peec tracks visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice (your share of mentions against competitors) every day. It also offers source analytics, gap analysis and a crawler audit across 40+ AI bots.[1]
- Engines tracked: Self-serve plans let you choose 3 models, including ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Enterprise tracks up to 13 LLM models.[1]
- Starting price: €85/mo on monthly billing, with a 15% discount for annual billing. An extra model costs €25/mo on Starter, priced on annual billing.[1]
- Free trial: Yes, and the pricing page we captured doesn't state its length.[1]
- What it cannot do: Self-serve plans stop at three models unless you pay for extras. Claude appears only on Enterprise, as an API model.[1]
- Best for: SEO and content teams who want one daily dashboard with unlimited users.[1]
1. Otterly AI: best for small teams starting on a budget
Otterly AI puts four AI engines into a $29/month Lite plan for solo marketers and small teams. Lite tracks 15 search prompts daily with unlimited team members.[3] OtterlyAI says Gartner named it a Cool Vendor for AI in Marketing in 2025.[12]
- What it does: Otterly tracks a Brand Visibility Index, domain rankings and link citations. It also runs GEO (generative engine optimisation) audits and prompt research across 50+ countries.[3]
- Engines tracked: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot come included. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini cost extra.[3]
- Starting price: $29/month billed monthly, or $25/month on annual billing. Standard costs $189/month for 100 prompts.[3]
- Free trial: Yes, for new users.[3]
- What it cannot do: Lite's 15 prompts cover a narrow slice of a market, and Claude adds $29 a month. API and MCP access, a link that lets AI assistants read your data, start on Standard.[3]
- Best for: A founder or small marketing team testing AI visibility before a bigger commitment.
2. Profound: best for enterprise marketing teams
Profound calls its product an AI Marketer and says a third of the Fortune 100 trust its enterprise capabilities.[5][13] Its pricing page shows a free Trial and an Enterprise plan sold as tailored packages.[5]
- What it does: Profound tracks visibility scores, share of voice, brand sentiment, citation sources and competitor rankings.[14] Its Agent Analytics connects to hosts and CDNs such as Cloudflare, Vercel and WordPress.[5]
- Engines tracked: The Trial covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise tracks up to 9 answer engines, including Perplexity, Claude, Copilot and DeepSeek.[5]
- Starting price: Not published on the pricing page we captured. Enterprise shows as custom.[5]
- Free trial: Yes. The Trial runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days.[5]
- What it cannot do: Trial users get a recommended prompt set and can't customise it. The Trial also comes with no history, exports or API.[5]
- Best for: Large brands that need many engines, 30+ languages and single sign-on through their own identity system.[14][5]
3. Scrunch: best for teams that want one flat plan with site audits
Scrunch Core costs $250/mo and bundles 125 unique prompts, 5 site audits a month and 5 user licences.[8] On Enterprise, Scrunch also sells an Agent Experience Platform (AXP) for AI agents.[8]
- What it does: Scrunch covers monitoring, citations, sentiment, AI bot traffic and page optimisations. Its citation view shows which domains and URLs the AI answers you track cite most.[15]
- Engines tracked: Core supports 4 LLMs: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AIO and Copilot. Enterprise supports 9 and adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok.[8]
- Starting price: $250/mo for Core. Enterprise pricing is not published on the pricing page we captured.[8]
- Free trial: Yes, 7 days on Core.[8]
- What it cannot do: Core covers 1 country, 1 language and 1 persona. Looker Studio and API access sit on Enterprise.[8]
- Best for: A single brand team that wants a fixed monthly bill with site audits included.
4. Semrush: best for teams already using Semrush
Semrush sells SEO and AI search in one platform. Its Starter plan costs $199 monthly and tracks 50 prompts daily for one domain, next to the keyword tools.[9]
- What it does: Semrush offers Visibility Overview, Brand Performance with sentiment, Prompt Tracking and AI search health audits. It shows which prompts trigger brand mentions and citations in your category.[16]
- Engines tracked: The pricing page shows Google Search, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini "& more".[9]
- Starting price: The SEO plan costs $139 monthly and includes custom prompt monitoring. Starter costs $199 monthly, or $165.17/mo billed annually.[9]
- Free trial: Yes, 7 days of free access to the toolkits.[16] A $0 plan also lets you try the platform.[9]
- What it cannot do: The captured page doesn't name the engines behind "& more". API data integration starts on the Advanced plan at $549 monthly.[9]
- Best for: SEO teams and agencies that want AI visibility inside the Semrush workflow they already pay for.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar: best for Ahrefs users who want a large prompt database
Ahrefs Brand Radar lets you research any brand across 449M+ organic prompts and track your own.[10] Ahrefs says it models every prompt from real user searches in its keyword database.[17]
- What it does: Brand Radar covers brand mentions, AI citations, AI traffic and AI crawler visits. It also shows fanout queries: the background searches an AI runs while it answers.[17]
- Engines tracked: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude available for custom prompts.[17][18]
- Starting price: Brand Radar AI starts from $199/mo, and Ahrefs also sells it standalone. Paid Ahrefs plans start at $129/mo for Lite, which includes 5 tracked AI prompts.[10]
- Free trial: Ahrefs' pricing FAQ points to its free Ahrefs account rather than a trial.[10] Brand Radar also offers a free AI visibility preview.[17]
- What it cannot do: Custom tracking spends checks. Each prompt uses 1 check per platform, location and update, and Claude consumes 8 checks per update.[18]
- Best for: Teams already on Ahrefs. Extra prompt packages start at $50/mo for 2,500 more checks.[10]
6. SE Ranking: best for SEO suite buyers who want AI tracking
SE Ranking is an SEO platform that now tracks AI answers too. Core includes 100 daily prompts across 5 LLMs, next to rank tracking, audits and backlinks.[11] The AI Search add-on adds the AI Results Tracker with 200 prompts.[11]
- What it does: The add-on gives you the AI Results Tracker and unlimited AI competitor research. Core connects to GA4 and Search Console.[11]
- Engines tracked: The AI Search add-on names AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT. Core lists 5 LLMs without naming them.[11]
- Starting price: Core costs $129.00/mo on monthly billing or $103.20/mo on annual billing. The AI Search add-on costs $89.00/mo monthly or $71.20/mo annually.[11]
- Free trial: Yes, 14 days with no credit card required.[11]
- What it cannot do: The add-on names four engines, and Claude, Gemini and Copilot aren't among them. API access costs +$45.00/mo, on annual billing only.[11]
- Best for: SEO teams that want classic rankings and AI answers on one bill.
7. Rankscale: best for credit-based tracking across many engines
Rankscale has the lowest paid entry price on this list at $20/mo, and it runs on credits. Each query to an AI engine typically uses 0.25 credits.[2] Pro includes 1,200 credits a month and tracks up to 4,800 AI answers.[2]
- What it does: Rankscale offers visibility, citation and sentiment tracking, plus shopping and ad analysis in ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Copilot. Its MCP link lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor query your data.[2]
- Engines tracked: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude, Grok and Microsoft Copilot.[2]
- Starting price: $20/mo for Essentials. Pro starts at $99/mo, Growth at $385/mo and Enterprise at $780/mo.[2]
- Free trial: Yes. Pro comes with a 7-day free trial and no charge until day 7.[2]
- What it cannot do: Credits cap your volume. Rankscale's own example puts 50 prompts at 0.75 credits a run, weekly, at 162.5 credits a month.[2]
- Best for: Small teams and agencies that want many engines, with schedules from hourly to monthly, and can manage a credit budget.[2]
8. ZipTie: best for buyers who want to configure their own plan
ZipTie builds each price from the engines, prompt volume and cadence you pick. Its Starter preset shows from $42.75/mo, and ZipTie charges in US dollars only.[6]

- Starting price: From $42.75/mo for the Starter preset on monthly billing. Professional starts from $659.59/mo and Enterprise from $3,137.09/mo.[6]
- Free trial: Yes. You get 7 days and 25 daily prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, with no card required.[6]
- What it cannot do: ZipTie adds no VAT or sales tax, so buyers outside the US handle the tax themselves. It doesn't issue refunds, and API and MCP access cost +$10/mo.[6]
- Best for: Buyers who want to set each engine and cadence themselves, from daily checks to once every 30 days.[6]
9. AthenaHQ: best for many models on one credit budget
AthenaHQ sells tracking as credits, where 1 credit equals 1 AI response. Starter costs $295/month for 3,600 credits and covers 11 models.[4] A free Essential plan gives you 300 credits across five engines, so you can test it before you pay.[4]
- What it does: AthenaHQ offers prompt and response analysis, source and competitor insights, content recommendations and prompt volume estimates. It also connects to GA4 and Search Console.[4]
- Engines tracked: Starter covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral. More models are available on request.[4]
- Starting price: Essential costs nothing and includes 300 credits. Starter costs $295/month, and annual billing takes 17% off.[4]
- Free trial: None on the pricing page we captured, and the Essential plan is free.[4]
- What it cannot do: Starter covers a single region and language. API access and extra credits cost extra, and AthenaHQ quotes them on request.[4]
- Best for: Self-guided small businesses, AthenaHQ's own label for Starter, that want many models on one bill.[4]
What can Peec AI and its alternatives measure, and what can't they?
Peec AI and its alternatives measure a sample. They read the answers AI engines give to your chosen prompts, on the engines and cadence you pay for.
One answer is one data point
ZipTie puts it plainly: "A single AI answer is a sample, not a fact - the same prompt can vary cycle to cycle."[7] So watch the trend across many runs. Peec's own table puts Starter at 4,500 AI answers a month: 50 prompts on 3 models, daily.[1]
Your own screen won't match the tracker
OtterlyAI says ChatGPT and Perplexity use "a so-called Memory RAG where they store information on you, your search history."[12] In plain words, the engine remembers you. Google says AI Mode and AI Overviews may use different models, so their responses and links vary.[19]
What sits outside the tracker
Your prompt list decides what the tracker sees, so start with the searches that already bring customers in Search Console. Google includes AI Overviews and AI Mode traffic in Search Console's "Web" search type.[19] OpenAI says sites opted out of OAI-SearchBot "will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers".[20] Check your robots.txt file, which tells crawlers what they may read.
How should you choose between Peec AI and its alternatives?
Choose by the engines your buyers use, the prompts you need and who will act on the data. A cheap plan that skips your buyers' engine measures the wrong market.
- List the engines your buyers use. If three cover them, Peec's self-serve plans fit. For Claude without an enterprise contract, Rankscale and AthenaHQ Starter include it, and Otterly sells it as an add-on.[2][4][3]
- Count the prompts you need. Write one per product, location and buying stage. Then compare Otterly Lite's 15, Peec Starter's 50 and Scrunch Core's 125.[3][1][8]
- Check the cadence. Peec, Otterly and Semrush run prompts daily. ZipTie lets you choose daily, weekly or once every 30 days.[1][3][9][6]
- Check currency and tax. Peec prices in euros, and ZipTie charges only in USD with no VAT or sales tax added.[6]
- Run a trial on your own prompts. Profound, Scrunch, ZipTie and Rankscale Pro offer 7 days, and SE Ranking offers 14.[5][8][6][2][11]
- Decide who acts on the numbers. If nobody on your team will build the pages and sources the tracker points to, you'll watch the same gap every morning.
Where does a managed service fit instead of a tool?
A managed service fits when you want someone to build the fixes a tracker points to. Searchmaxxed is an AI SEO team, so it sits outside the tool list. You can keep your tracker and still have us do the work.
We do agentic SEO. We build AI agents that plug into your whole Search Console and GA4. Every week, the agents scrape your competitors' sites and read the Google results. They also check what AI answers say about you. That data feeds our Managed Search Loop. The loop checks everything against your plan and tells us the next best job.
We build the on-page assets on your Agentic Website: new pages, fixes, schema and internal links. The site lives on GitHub and Vercel, and you own it. We build the off-page assets through our Off-Page Source Layer: links, reviews, citations, press and mentions on other sites. A person checks every change before it goes live. Then the agents measure what it did, and the loop picks the next job. One odd AI answer never sets the plan, because the loop compares matched 28-day and 90-day periods.
Before Searchmaxxed, I ran these same steps by hand at Radiant Roof Repairs. I took it from zero to more than A$1 million a year, with SEO as its only marketing channel.[21] The agents now run those steps every week. By my own count, our work has generated more than A$10 million in revenue through search across our client book.
We're a Queensland team. We work with companies across Australia and take on companies beyond it. Our packages are Local Search, the Growth System, Agentic Search Engineering and Custom & Enterprise. Our pricing page shows what each includes, and our AI search optimisation, GEO and AEO pages show the work. For background, read what AI SEO is and how to get cited by ChatGPT. Let's talk pricing.
Frequently asked questions
What is Peec AI used for?
Peec AI tracks how AI engines mention and cite your brand. It runs each prompt once every 24 hours on every model you've selected.[22] A mention means the answer names you. A citation means the engine used your content, even if it didn't name you.[22]
Is Peec AI legit?
Peec AI runs a live product with a free trial, three self-serve plans and an Enterprise tier. It says 3000+ brands and agencies use it.[1] I found no third-party review scores in my research. The fair test is a trial on your own prompts.
How much does Peec AI cost?
Peec AI costs €85/mo for Starter, €205/mo for Pro and €425/mo for Advanced on monthly billing. Annual billing takes 15% off.[1] Enterprise is custom and billed annually, and agencies have a separate pricing page.[1]
What are the cheapest Peec AI alternatives?
AthenaHQ has a free Essential plan with 300 credits, and Semrush has a $0 plan.[4][9] Among paid plans, Rankscale starts at $20/mo, Otterly AI at $29/month and ZipTie from $42.75/mo.[2][3][6]
Why do my own ChatGPT results differ from the tool's?
AI platforms personalise answers using memory, your search history and your location, OtterlyAI says.[12] Answers also vary between runs, so a tool reads a trend.[7]
Do AI visibility tools show traffic from AI answers?
Some do. Google includes AI Overviews and AI Mode traffic in Search Console's "Web" search type.[19] Peec lists AI referrals, and Ahrefs Brand Radar shows AI traffic by page.[1][17]
Can an AI visibility tool improve my citations?
A tool shows where you're missing and suggests actions. Peec, for example, groups ranked opportunities into earned and owned.[1] The citations themselves come from work: better pages and more sources that mention you. We build the pages on your Agentic Website and the sources through our Off-Page Source Layer.
Should I buy a tool or hire a team?
Buy a tool if someone on your team has time to build pages and win sources every week. Hire a team if the numbers keep arriving and nothing changes. Our Managed Search Loop reads the evidence and picks the next job. We ship it, with a person approving every change.
Do these tools work for Australian businesses?
Yes, once you check country coverage and currency. Otterly supports 50+ countries and Peec Advanced adds multi-country tracking, while Scrunch Core covers one country.[3][1][8] Peec prices in euros, and ZipTie charges in USD without adding VAT or sales tax.[6]
How often should you check AI visibility?
Daily runs suit a trend line. ZipTie notes that a real change "separates itself from random variance over a few cycles".[7] Our agents check AI answers weekly, and the Managed Search Loop decides on matched 28-day and 90-day periods.
