TLDR
  • Read every SEO price as a number of hours. By my sum, E-Web Marketing's stated $100 to $150 an hour means $1,500 buys 10 to 15 hours.[1]
  • Prosperity Media advises 15 to 30 hours monthly for a small business.[5] At E-Web's rates, my sum puts that at $1,500 to $4,500. So a package under $1,500 buys less than the low end of that advice.
  • Link building and content volume disappear first as the price drops. E-Web Marketing's own budget tier offers minimal or no link building.[1] Design Grid's lowest band carries only light content.[4]
  • Cheap packages share warning signs: a promise of top spots, vague monthly deliverables, spammy links and missing reports.[1]
  • Compare proposals on six things: hours, monthly output, GST, contract term, set-up fees and who owns the work.
  • Searchmaxxed runs agentic SEO through the Agentic Website, the Managed Search Loop and the Off-Page Source Layer. Each package carries named scope, and we quote after we see your site. Let's talk pricing.

SEO packages in Australia mostly cost between $1,500 and $10,000 a month. E-Web Marketing, First Page and Safari Digital each publish that range on pages I checked on 28 September 2026.[1][2][3] E-Web Marketing says its prices exclude GST.[1] Design Grid puts local campaigns at about $1,000 to $3,000, and national campaigns at about $5,000 to $25,000 or more.[4] Under $1,000, E-Web's budget tier buys basic keyword research, minimal or no link building and a monthly report.[1]

I'm Brenden House and I run Searchmaxxed. Every price on this page belongs to another agency and carries its source. We do agentic SEO. Our AI agents read your Search Console, GA4 and competitor pages every week, and a person approves every change we ship. Our own packages come last, named with what they include.

How much do SEO packages cost in Australia in 2026?

Ongoing SEO in Australia costs $1,500 to $10,000 or more monthly in the most common published range.[1][2][3] E-Web Marketing puts small businesses at $1,500 to $2,500, excluding GST.[1] Design Grid starts its range lower, at about $1,000.[4]

Here are the Australian SEO prices as each page showed them on 28 September 2026. E-Web Marketing's guide carries a publish date of 20 June 2025.[1]

First Page also quotes Melbourne campaigns at $2,000 to $15,000 AUD monthly.[2] It ties that range to competition, site size and how fast a client wants results.

Most national agencies quote after a review. Of the 11 national agencies in our Australian agency research, Prosperity Media alone put a figure on its own service. StudioHawk prices each proposal from your budget, site and workload.[6]

What drives the price of an SEO package in Australia?

Australian SEO prices follow the hours a campaign needs. The hours follow competition, site size and reach. E-Web Marketing says its monthly budgets pay for staff time, generally at $100 to $150 an hour, plus tools.[1] Design Grid names six drivers: scope, competition, site size and technical health, geography, provider expertise and current performance.[4]

Competition moves the price most. Design Grid compares "family lawyer Footscray", with a keyword difficulty near 30, against "car insurance Australia", which can score above 70.[4] The harder phrase needs more content, digital PR and authority work, so it costs more. Zib Digital says the same about Sydney: "The price follows how contested your category is and how much senior time, content and authority work it takes".[7]

Site size comes next. Design Grid contrasts a clean five-page WordPress site with a custom store carrying thousands of products, slow load times and messy URLs.[4] More pages and more fixes mean more hours.

Reach matters too. Local SEO for one city centres on the Google Business Profile, local citations and a tight set of location keywords.[4] National targeting needs far more content and stronger authority.[4]

Then there is the hourly rate itself. Design Grid says Australian agencies charge $85 to $350 an hour, and senior consultants $100 to $500 or more.[4] It puts low-cost overseas providers at $10 to $50 an hour.[4]

Some agencies add a set-up fee on top. E-Web Marketing says set-up costs depend on the health of your website and usually start from $500.[1]

When I scope work at Searchmaxxed, I look at the website, the market and the goals before I recommend a package. Our AI SEO Audit does that first look in five business days.

What does each SEO price level buy?

Each SEO price level in Australia buys a different number of working hours, and the hours decide what can ship. At Searchmaxxed, I turn every quote into hours before I compare anything. The published tiers from E-Web Marketing and Design Grid fall into four bands.[1][4]

The hour and cost conversions below are my own sums from each agency's published fees, rates and hours.

Under $1,000 monthly: a few hours and a report

E-Web Marketing's tier table says budget SEO under $1,000 buys basic keyword research, minimal or no link building and monthly reporting.[1] Safari Digital's pricing page uses a lower figure for cheap rivals in a heading: "We’re Not a $499 P/M SEO Rogue".[8] By my sum, at E-Web's stated $100 to $150 an hour, $499 buys about three to five hours.[8][1]

First Page warns buyers about "full SEO" offers under $1,000.[2] Keep the five hours in mind when a cheap proposal lists ten services.

$1,000 to $3,000 monthly: local presence

Design Grid says $1,000 to $2,000 covers core keyword research, on-page fixes, the Google Business Profile, citations, light content and basic reporting.[4] First Page puts local businesses at $1,500 to $3,000.[2]

At E-Web's hourly rates, $1,500 buys 10 to 15 hours.[1] At Design Grid's $150 to $250 for experienced providers, it buys six to 10 hours.[4] Prosperity Media advises 15 to 30 hours monthly for a small business.[5] A $1,500 fee reaches the low end of that advice only at $100 an hour.

$3,000 to $5,000 monthly: growth for small and medium businesses

Design Grid ties this band to more content, technical clean-up, stronger link earning, detailed reports and review calls.[4] E-Web Marketing's premium tier starts at $3,000, with extensive keyword research, aggressive link building and weekly reporting.[1]

Prosperity Media advises 30 to 50 hours for a medium-sized company.[5] At E-Web's hourly rates, those hours cost $3,000 to $7,500.

$5,000 to $10,000 and above: national and ecommerce

Design Grid ties $6,000 to $10,000 or more to large content output, advanced technical work, digital PR, CRO tests and custom dashboards.[4] It puts many serious ecommerce campaigns at $10,000 or more.[4] Prosperity Media advises 50 to 100 or more hours for large and enterprise companies.[5] At E-Web's rates, that comes to $5,000 to $15,000 or more.

As the price drops, link building and content volume go first while reporting stays.[1][4]

At Searchmaxxed, the Managed Search Loop answers the hours question with data. It ranks each job by how close it sits to customers and revenue, then ships the top jobs every week.

What are the red flags in cheap SEO packages?

The red flags in cheap Australian SEO packages are a promise of top spots, vague deliverables, spammy links and missing reports. E-Web Marketing lists all four among its warning signs for cheap packages.[1] Design Grid adds secret methods, long keyword lists from cheap overseas providers and rigid template bundles.[4]

A promise of the top spot

E-Web Marketing says no one can promise top spots on Google, and calls the promise a red flag for manipulative tactics.[1] Design Grid says these promises tend to chase keywords that are easy to rank for but bring almost no revenue.[4] Ask which searches the promise covers and what a customer from each one is worth.

A task list with no output

E-Web Marketing warns about providers who can't tell you what they'll do each month.[1] A proposal should name what ships: pages built, fixes deployed and links earned. A monthly report takes hours too, so ask how much of the fee goes to reporting. Then divide the fee by the hourly rate and check the listed work fits those hours.

Links from irrelevant sites

E-Web Marketing says backlinks from irrelevant or low-quality sites can hurt your rankings.[1] Ask for the sites where the agency placed links last month, and open each one.

Pages churned out by automation

Google calls automated content that games rankings spam. In Google's words: "If you use automation, including AI-generation, to produce content for the primary purpose of manipulating search rankings, that's a violation of our spam policies."[9] Whatever the package, ask who checks each page before it goes live. At Searchmaxxed, a person approves every change before it reaches the Agentic Website.

Volume over attention

Safari Digital says cheap providers need to manage a lot of accounts, "usually 100’s", to keep the lights on.[8] Design Grid says cheap offshore work often brings thin content and risky tactics that later cost extra to repair.[4]

How do you compare SEO proposals like for like?

Compare Australian SEO proposals on six things: hours, monthly output, GST, contract term, set-up fees and ownership. Put every proposal into the same table before you look at the total. Two quotes with the same fee can buy different amounts of work.

CheckAsk the agencyWhat the market shows
HoursHow many hours each month, at what rate?E-Web Marketing prices staff time at $100 to $150 an hour.
OutputWhat ships each month: pages, fixes, links?Design Grid ties output volume to spend level.
GSTIs the fee plus GST?E-Web Marketing and Prosperity Media quote without GST.
TermHow long is the contract, and how do I leave?Design Grid says commitments often run six to twelve months.
Set-upIs there a one-off fee?E-Web Marketing's set-up fees usually start from $500.
OwnershipWho owns the site, content and data?Get the answer in writing.

Hours come first because they convert every other line into the same unit. By my sum, a $1,500 quote buys 15 hours at $100 an hour and six at $250.[1][4]

Then read the proposal for AI search. Ask whether it tracks what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews say about you. At Searchmaxxed, AEO and GEO sit inside every managed package.

Last, ask who owns the website, the repository, the content and the data if you leave. Searchmaxxed clients own all four from day one.

Where does Searchmaxxed fit, and what do its SEO packages include?

Searchmaxxed sells agentic SEO in four named managed packages: Local Search, Growth System, Agentic Search Engineering and Custom & Enterprise. Each one runs through our Agentic Website, Managed Search Loop and Off-Page Source Layer. We quote each business after we look at its website, market and goals, so we publish no fee.

Our SEO service runs the same six steps every week:

  1. We build AI agents that plug into your whole Search Console and GA4.
  2. The agents scrape your competitors' sites, read the Google results and check what AI answers say about you.
  3. That data feeds our Managed Search Loop. It checks everything against your plan and picks the next best job.
  4. We build the on-page work on your Agentic Website, which lives on GitHub and Vercel and belongs to you. That means new pages, fixes, schema and internal links.
  5. We build the off-page work through our Off-Page Source Layer: links, reviews, citations, press and mentions on other sites.
  6. A person checks every change before it goes live. Then the agents measure what it did, and the loop picks the next job.

Every managed package shares the same base. Audits run all the time, and a 90-day plan breaks into weekly releases. We build, approve and deploy the work ourselves. A monthly decision memo measures you against competitors. You talk to the people doing the work, with no account managers. You own the site, repository, content and data from day one.

Local Search

Local Search suits businesses that win customers in their own area. It includes at least 8 page releases a month: service, suburb and service-by-suburb pages. We manage your Google Business Profile daily and run the review engine. You also get qualified local links plus citation and listing cleanup. Each month adds a local press release and local AI answer tracking. A monthly geo-grid scan maps where you rank across your area. Our local SEO service covers the detail. Entry is the Agentic Migration or the Full Build.

Growth System

The Growth System ships 30 page releases a month: approved new pages or substantial rebuilds. Technical, schema, internal-link, measurement and Source Layer work never reduces that number. It adds landing-page work on up to four existing pages a month and source-layer basics, meaning citations, profiles and reviews. You get one qualified link action a month, Reddit engagement scaled to 10 mentions a month and AI visibility tracking. Our content strategy and technical SEO pages show how that work runs.

Agentic Search Engineering

Agentic Search Engineering holds everything in the Growth System, plus 50 page releases a month. It adds new comparison, industry and integration page families, a monthly press release and continuous digital PR. It runs qualified link building campaigns and Reddit engagement scaled to 20 mentions a month. We track AI answers across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews. You also get a quarterly competitor review and a quarterly proof asset from your own wins.

Custom & Enterprise

Custom & Enterprise scope can cover several markets, dedicated engineering, custom reporting and original first-party research.

Where to start

Three entry products sit in front of the managed packages. The AI SEO Audit takes five business days. It maps where buyers search without finding you and what the site does to itself. Then it ranks every fix by value and sets the plan. We credit it to the build or first month when you start within 14 days.

The Agentic Website Full Build covers market research, sitemap, design system, page families, technical SEO, conversion paths and measurement. It goes live in 30 business days. The Agentic Migration keeps a design worth keeping and moves the site to an owned repository, loop-ready in days. Terms run monthly, six-month or 12-month, and we agree the term on the call. The pricing page sets out every package and its inclusions side by side.

Before Searchmaxxed, I built Radiant Roof Repairs on the Gold Coast from zero to more than $1 million a year in revenue. SEO was its only marketing channel. Three high-intent Gold Coast roofing searches reached number one within 90 days. I did those pages, competitor checks and updates by hand. The Radiant Roof Repairs case study shows the work. Our agents now run those same steps every week. By my own count across our client book, our work has generated more than $10 million in revenue through search.

Tell us about your site and your market, and we'll recommend the package that fits. Let's talk pricing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SEO typically cost in Australia?

Ongoing SEO in Australia typically costs $1,500 to $10,000 or more monthly, according to E-Web Marketing, First Page and Safari Digital.[1][2][3] Small local campaigns sit near the bottom of that range. National and ecommerce campaigns sit at the top and beyond.[4] I took every figure from agency pages checked on 28 September 2026.

How much does an SEO package cost?

A published SEO package in Australia starts around $1,500 monthly at the entry level. E-Web Marketing prices its Starter SEO package at $1,500 and its Growth SEO package at $2,000 monthly.[1] Most of the national agencies I checked quote each package after a review of the site and market.

Is SEO still worth it in 2026?

SEO still pays in 2026 when the pages help real buyers and the work keeps shipping. Google says SEO can be a helpful activity when it serves people-first content.[9] I built Radiant Roof Repairs to more than $1 million a year with SEO as its only channel. I did it by hand, and our agents now run those steps weekly.

Which SEO company is the best in Australia?

Are Australian SEO prices quoted with or without GST?

Most Australian SEO prices leave GST unstated, so ask before you compare.
