SEO in Brisbane costs about A$750 to A$3,000 a month for most local businesses, going by the plans Brisbane agencies publish on their own websites. Automated plans start at A$250. Competitive and national campaigns run from A$2,800 to A$4,800 and up, and six of the eight Brisbane providers with published prices bill month to month. Some add a one-off setup or website fee of A$1,200 to A$2,000 before the monthly work starts. Four things set your number: the services you sell, the suburbs you want, the competition in your trade and the state of your website.

I read the pricing and service pages of 14 Brisbane SEO providers on 25 October 2026: eight publish prices and six don't. Their figures sit in the tables below. Hold any quote you get against them, line by line, before you sign anything.

In summary

Expect A$750 to A$3,000 a month for SEO in Brisbane, unless you sell nationally or in a crowded trade, where plans start nearer A$2,800.

Your businessPublished Brisbane plans, per month

  • Check GST and one-off fees before you compare: setup or build fees run A$1,200 to A$2,000 where a provider publishes them.
  • Most Brisbane providers bill month to month.
  • Judge an agency on what goes live in the first 90 days, and price it against the profit from one extra job.

Prices are monthly unless marked. I converted weekly prices at 52 weeks over 12 months, and each row comes from the provider's own page, linked above, on 25 October 2026. Every provider shows a Brisbane address or landline, or says it is Brisbane-based. These are advertised prices and inclusions, so treat them as a guide rather than a Brisbane average or a quote for your site.

Brisbane agencies that don't publish a price

AgencyPrice on its siteWhat it publishes instead
iSonic DigitalNot publishedA free quote once it knows your goals; it never bills SEO by the hour
Excite MediaNot publishedA price after "a chat and doing some research"; no lock-in contracts
Resurge DigitalNot publishedPricing set per business by competition, scope and opportunity
Margin MediaNot publishedPackages scoped to each business: "tailored, not tiered"
Digital8Not publishedIts guide quotes A$1,250 to A$3,500 + GST a month for ongoing campaigns; month-to-month
RankingCoNot publishedIts local SEO guide: A$500 to A$1,500 basic, A$1,500 to A$3,000 standard, A$3,000+ advanced

Not published means the linked page states no fee for the agency's own work, so ask each for a written quote on the same brief.

Three patterns stand out. Weekly billing looks smaller than it is, because A$599 a week works out at about A$2,596 a month once you count every week. AI search has reached the middle tiers: two providers name AI visibility or AI search in plans from A$1,950 a month. No two agencies define a tier alike. One counts hours, while others count articles, landing pages or tracked keywords.

What do you get at each price level?

Entry plans of A$750 to A$1,400 a month buy the foundations: technical and on-page fixes, a Google Business Profile and monthly reporting. Steady content, link building and AI search mostly start in the A$1,950 to A$3,000 plans.

LevelPublished price per monthWhat Brisbane plans list
AutomatedA$250 to A$600Strategist-set keywords, an article every fortnight, weekly rank tracking; a landing page a month at A$600
Local foundationsA$750 to A$1,400Audit and roadmap, technical checks, on-page fixes, Google Business Profile, monthly reporting
GrowthA$1,950 to A$3,000Content clusters, more tracked keywords, link acquisition, several services or locations, AI visibility
CompetitiveA$2,800 to A$4,800+Digital PR and backlinks, high-competition keywords, larger sites, national reach, a dedicated senior

One provider publishes the hours behind its tiers: 10 hours a month at A$1,400 and 16 hours at A$2,240. Ten hours isn't much. It covers profile fixes, a handful of page updates and a report, with little left for new suburb pages or link building. That suits one service near your base.

The automated plans work differently. At A$250 you're paying for scheduled articles and rank tracking, with a strategist setting up the keywords. Ask what happens when a page needs a rewrite or the site itself needs fixing, because that's where cheap plans and managed plans part ways.

What changes the cost of SEO for a Brisbane business?

Your services, your service area, your competitors and your website set the price of SEO in Brisbane. The agency's own suburb barely moves it. Agencies based outside Brisbane publish Brisbane prices in the same range or higher, as the table further down this page shows.

Your situationWhat the work addsWhere it sits in published Brisbane prices
One service near your baseA sharp service page, a complete Google Business Profile, reviews, local listingsEntry plans, A$750 to A$1,400
Several servicesA page and keyword set for each service, more content each monthGrowth plans, A$1,950 to A$3,000
Jobs across several council areasPages for the areas you serve, reviews from those suburbs, Maps checks beyond your addressGrowth plans and up
A crowded or regulated tradeDeeper pages, more links, digital PRA$2,800 to A$4,800+
A site that needs work firstA rebuild, migration or setup before the monthly workOne-off fees of A$1,200 to A$2,000 where published
Customers beyond BrisbaneContent and links for each extra marketA$4,200 and up

Greater Brisbane spreads across several council areas, including Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich and Redland. In my view that spread is the Brisbane cost driver to watch, because each extra area needs pages, reviews and Maps work of its own.

A worked example: a roofer on the northside

Take a roofer on Brisbane's northside who wants more roof restoration jobs, and picture two versions of the same business. Version one sells restorations only, within a short drive of the yard. That needs one strong restoration page, a complete Business Profile, steady reviews and clean listings, which an entry plan covers.

Version two adds repairs and gutters. That roofer also wants jobs in Moreton Bay and Logan, so each service needs its own page and each main area needs one too.

Google says local results depend mainly on relevance, distance and prominence (its summary now says popularity), and distance works against a northside roofer chasing jobs in Logan. Prominence has to close the gap. That means more reviews, more links and better pages, which is growth-plan work.

Roofing is the trade I know best, and I'll come back to it below.

Does the agency's location change the price?

Not much: agencies based in Sydney and on the Gold Coast publish Brisbane prices that start at A$1,400 + GST, above the cheapest Brisbane plans.

Agency and baseBrisbane price it publishes
Safari Digital, SydneyA$1,400 + GST a month for small businesses in less competitive niches, up to A$10,000+
Digital Presence, Norwest NSWLocal campaigns from A$1,500 + GST; billing period not stated
Five by Five, Burleigh HeadsSmall from A$1,950 + GST; Large from A$3,000 + GST

Prices come from each agency's own Brisbane page, on the same date. What matters more is whether the agency knows your suburbs and competitors, so ask it to show you Maps results across your whole service area.

Do Brisbane SEO agencies lock you into a contract?

Most don't. Six of the eight Brisbane providers with published prices say they bill month to month or have no lock-in, so watch the start instead. That's where setup fees, site builds, paid strategy sessions and prepaid months sit.

TermWhat Brisbane providers publishAsk before you sign
Minimum termSix of eight say month to month or no lock-in; one asks for three months upfront on some projectsIs any month prepaid or non-refundable?
Setup and build feesA$1,250 to A$2,000 setup at one; an A$1,200 + GST site build at anotherWhat do I own once it's paid?
Strategy sessionA$500 + GST at one, refunded on its stated termsDoes it come off the first invoice?
GSTThree of eight say plus GST; five don't sayIs every figure ex GST?
ExitOne says no exit feeWhat happens to my pages and accounts if I leave?

Month to month protects you from a bad fit, but it won't make SEO faster, so judge the first 90 days on what went live. Pages, fixes, reviews and links count.

Is SEO worth the cost for a Brisbane business?

SEO is worth it when the profit from extra jobs covers the fee. I price SEO against what a job is worth to you, because the cheapest quote on the table tells you nothing about that.

Suppose the northside roofer keeps A$4,000 from each restoration after materials and labour, and pays A$2,000 a month for its SEO plan. Break-even is one extra restoration every second month. Those are example figures, so use your own margin and close rate.

Roofing is where I learned this. Before Searchmaxxed, I built Radiant Roof Repairs from zero to more than A$1 million a year in revenue using SEO as the only marketing channel. Three high-intent Gold Coast roofing searches reached number one within 90 days. I did the pages, research, competitor checks and updates manually.

The split was simple. A mate did the roofs; I did the marketing, sales and operations. When we reached the map pack it was phone call after phone call: 1,487 calls came off our Google Business Profile. Most of that came through Google Maps. Finding people to do the work became the hard part.

That's a Gold Coast result from my own business, not a Brisbane forecast. The Radiant Roof Repairs case study shows the work behind it, and our guide to whether SEO is worth it does the maths.

How do you compare two Brisbane SEO quotes?

Put both quotes on the same footing, then compare what goes live each month rather than the package names on the cover page. Use this checklist.

  1. Turn each quote into a monthly figure ex GST, and list setup or build fees on their own line so they don't hide.
  2. Ask for the monthly output. Hours, pages, articles, links and reviews all count, and a good agency names them before you sign.
  3. Ask which services and suburbs the plan covers, by name.
  4. Ask who writes and builds the pages, and what a site change costs on top of the monthly fee.
  5. Ask how they'll check your Google Maps rankings across the whole service area, not just from the street outside your office.
  6. Ask what you keep if you leave: pages, content, accounts and data.

Apply one test to any quote built around a new website. A prettier page is great, but if it doesn't bring you leads, what's the point?

Where does Searchmaxxed fit?

Searchmaxxed is an SEO and AI SEO agency. We do technical SEO, local SEO, content, link building, GEO and AEO. We work for two results: a place in Google's results and a mention in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers.

We don't publish fees. We look at your website, market and goals, then quote the scope, and our packages set out what each one includes.

PackageWho it suitsPublished scope
Local SearchBusinesses that sell within BrisbaneAt least 8 service and suburb page releases a month; daily Google Business Profile management; reviews; local links; citations; local AI answer tracking
Growth SystemCompanies selling beyond one city30 page releases a month; work on up to 4 existing landing pages; citations and reviews; one qualified link action a month; AI visibility tracking
Agentic Search EngineeringCompetitive or national markets50 page releases a month; comparison and industry pages; digital PR and link campaigns; AI answer tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews
Custom & EnterpriseSeveral markets or large sitesDedicated engineering, custom reporting and original research

A page release is an approved new page or a substantial rebuild. Every managed package also includes ongoing audits, a 90-day plan in weekly releases, the build work and a monthly decision memo. You own the site, repository, content and data from day one. Terms are monthly, six-month or 12-month. We agree the term on the call. Local Search starts with an Agentic Migration or a Full Build, and the AI SEO Audit comes included when you join.

Here's how the work runs. We build on a website you own, our Agentic Website. AI agents pull your Search Console and GA4 data, your rankings, your competitors' pages and what AI answers say about you. That data feeds the Managed Search Loop, which shows which page, fix or link should bring in the most enquiries next. We build it, verify the live page and measure what it brings in. Off the site, the Off-Page Source Layer covers links, reviews, citations and mentions that back up your business.

For a Brisbane business, that means service and suburb pages, a current Business Profile, and reviews across the areas you serve. Our Brisbane SEO page sets out that work in more detail. Searchmaxxed's work has generated more than A$10 million in revenue through search for its clients. For a quote on your site, let's talk pricing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does local SEO cost in Brisbane?

Local SEO plans from Brisbane providers start at about A$750 to A$1,400 a month and cover your Google Business Profile, on-page fixes and listings. The label matters less than the coverage. Ask how many suburbs and services the plan covers before you compare two prices.

What is the cheapest SEO in Brisbane?

The lowest published Brisbane price is an automated plan at A$250 a month, after a one-off A$1,200 + GST website build. It pays for scheduled articles and rank tracking. For one low-competition service that can be enough; for a crowded trade across Brisbane, budget for a managed plan.

How much do SEO consultants in Brisbane charge per hour?

None of the Brisbane pricing pages I read lists an hourly rate for the agency's own work, though some offer hourly consulting. Most sell monthly plans or fixed-price projects. One Brisbane agency's guide puts hourly rates at up to A$200, with specialist day rates averaging A$747 and senior day rates above A$1,100. See what an SEO consultant costs for the wider picture.

Do Brisbane SEO prices include GST?

Every Brisbane provider in my first table that mentions GST quotes plus GST, but five of the eight don't say either way. Ask for every figure ex GST.

Is a Brisbane-based SEO agency more expensive?

No. The Sydney and Gold Coast agencies above publish Brisbane prices from A$1,400 to A$1,950 + GST, while the cheapest Brisbane plans start lower. Choose on knowledge of your suburbs and competitors, not on postcode.

Do Brisbane SEO agencies charge setup fees?

Some do. Where Brisbane providers publish one, setup or build fees run from A$1,200 to A$2,000, and one agency charges A$500 + GST for a strategy session. Ask what you own once the fee is paid.

Does AI SEO cost extra in Brisbane?

Often it sits inside the middle tiers: two Brisbane providers name AI visibility or AI search in plans from A$1,950 a month. Ask which answers they check. Then ask who changes your pages when those answers leave you out.

Can I do SEO myself instead of paying an agency?

Yes. A Google Business Profile costs nothing, and Google charges nothing to appear in its organic results. Your costs are time, tools and any help you buy, so start with your Business Profile and one page per service. See how to do SEO yourself for the steps.

How long does SEO take to work in Brisbane?

Plan on three to six months for meaningful movement. iSonic Digital, Resurge Digital and Jason Suli all give that window on their Brisbane pages. Some early wins come sooner, because Jason Suli says technical fixes, indexing and Business Profile updates can move within weeks. Narrow searches go first. LINK Marketing says suburb and niche-service terms typically move within two to three months, and competitive city-wide terms within six to twelve.

Should I pay for SEO monthly or as a one-off project?

Pay monthly to grow rankings and enquiries, and buy a one-off project for a fixed job like an audit or migration. Brisbane providers sell both. The Brisbane SEO Guy quotes one-off projects at a fixed price up front. AR Digital Solutions gives audits, migrations and local SEO setups a fixed scope and a fixed price. BeKonstructive Marketing calls SEO an ongoing managed service, though it lists a technical audit or migration support as useful one-off work. My view: a project fixes what's broken, and the monthly work builds pages, reviews and links on top of it.

How much does SEO typically cost in Australia?

Published Australian local and managed SEO packages run from about A$550 to A$3,500 a month. That's the range in our Australian SEO cost guide, from examples checked on 23 October 2026. Broader consulting scopes can reach A$10,000. Brisbane's published plans stretch further at both ends: automated plans start at A$250, and competitive campaigns run to A$4,800 and up.

Is SEO dead now with AI?

No. Google says the same foundational SEO best practices apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode as to the rest of Search. To appear as a supporting link, a page must be indexed and eligible to show in Google Search with a snippet. Google lists no extra technical requirements. Its guide to AI features also tells site owners to keep Business Profile information up to date. So the Brisbane SEO you pay for is also the groundwork for Google's AI answers.

What should you do next?

Write down the two services and the suburbs that bring your best jobs, then hold every quote against the tables above. If you want us to scope it, let's talk.
